Those returning to the game after playingDeltarune: Chapter 1may have a good idea of how the game works. However, it’s understandable if some forgot how the game functions, especially for those who missedChapter 1entirely. Because of this, it’s important to go intoChapter 2with some knowledge of how to handle specific situations and how to advance through the game.

8Talk To Everyone

Those who play the RPGs that Toby Fox creates know that the games haveplenty of characters to talk to. While some individuals are placed just to make a witty pun or two, others may have important information about the lore that surrounds the game or important tips as to how to advance through it.

Regardless of what kind of dialogue they provide the player, it is worth talking to everyone because there will always be something to take away from it. Any minor character has a chance to leave a lasting impact on the player.

7Look Everywhere For Secrets

UnlikeUndertale,Deltaruneis more linear in the way the story progresses. That means a room that Kris discovers early on in the game may not be accessible later on. Because of this, it is important to explore every nook possible to make sure nothing is left behind.

For example, there are chests that are placed throughout the chapter that may contain some cash or a useful item. There may also be some easter eggs or gags that are hidden in plain sight. There mayeven be a routethat players could discover while moving around.

6Spare To Recruit

InChapter 1, Ralsei would encourage Kristo spare enemies in battle. However, there was never a reason to do so outside of the kindness of the player’s heart. This changes early on inChapter 2when Ralsiei introduces the concept of recruiting.

With this, each enemy that Kris successfully spares during battle will be invited back to the player’s castle town. Some enemy types will require more than one of them to be spared over the course of the game. There is even a chance that a spared enemy that was recruited will show up in a battle to fight in the party’s favor.

5Prioritize Armor Over Weapons

If players are looking to take the route of sparing people, it may be worth thinking of this strategy when purchasing things from the local shop. When looking to get any items that can be equipped for people in the party, it is essential thatpacifist players prioritize armor.

Even if players did want to do some attacking, some enemies can be brutal with their attacks. Increasing everyone’s defense can help players stay around in battles longer and can make reaching the end of them a lot easier. One or two nice weapons aren’t the end of the world, however.

4Stock Up On Health & TP Items

While getting some armor and weapons at shops are important, so are getting items that can be used in battle to keep certain party members afloat. Luckily, many of the “studios” that players stop at in the game have a selection of health items to choose from.

Health is among the more important items to have in case one individual has their HP go dangerously low while in the middle of major confrontations. It may be worth getting some items that prioritize TP as well. These items can help keep Ralsei and Susie’s magic readily available.

3Don’t Stress About Story Choices

There is another major difference betweenDeltaruneandUndertale:the choices madeby the player do not matter that much. There is a chance that specific dialogue and scenes may change depending on a choice provided to the player.

However, a theme throughout both chapters thus far is that no matter what happens over the course of the game, everyone will end up in the same place. There’s always a chance that may change in future chapters, but for now, don’t worry too much about missing out on something important depending on a choice made.

2Never Skip A Save Point

This may be obvious, but it is important to save the game whenever there is an opportunity. Unfortunately,Deltarunedoes not have an autosave option like most games nowadays. Instead, players will need to look out for a white rotating star that is flashing on the screen.

Kris can approachthis and the profile can be saved immediately. There is also the ability to save the game in a different save slot in case players want the option to go back in the game. Either way, these are very important to use in order to avoid potential frustration.

1Don’t Try To Understand Everything

One thing to keep in mind when playingDeltaruneis that there are a lot of moving partswhen it comes to the story. This is especially true given that the story is going to be told over the course of seven chapters.

Through two chapters, there is still a lot of plot points that have not been closed just yet. It is definitely fun to theorize on what is happening in the game, but don’t feel disheartened if things are hard to grasp. There is so much story left to tell and it’s worth enjoying the arc ofChapter 2by itself as it is more clearly presented.
