As many huge fans of both mediums will know, the worlds of video games and professional wrestling have been integrating more than ever over the last few years. While some might think that extends purely to video games - which is true, with tons of new wrestling titles releasing soon and in the next few years - it also seems to play a big part during in-ring competition, with performers like Hikaru Shida, Ronda Rousey, andThe Young Bucksall having sported video game inspired ring gear.

Among the biggest video game fans in the wrestling industry is, of course, AEW’sKenny Omega, who has gone on record numerous times to cite his love for the medium. The “Best Bout Machine” has made his presence known throughout the gaming world frequently, never missing a chance to discuss his love of theMotherfranchise, get stuck into some intenseStreet Fightertournaments, or evenenter the ring toUndertale’snow-iconic Megalovania.

In turn, Omega has a lot to say about some of gaming biggest discussions right now, with the star recently talking with ComicBook about whether he’s looking to buy aPlayStation 5or Xbox Series X. “I’m a really huge fan of the PlayStation exclusives,” Omega answers when asked about his preference, going on to claim “I think just for games likeUncharted, games likeSpider-Man, games likeThe Last of Us, those are reasons enough.” It seems he echoes the sentiment that games make a console rather than the specifications, going on to tell the interviewer “if you have those exclusive games, that’s enough reason for me to pick Sony over Xbox.”

Omega does clarify that Xbox does have some solid franchises, however, stating “I do enjoyHalo. I do likeGears of Warand all that, but I love the PlayStation exclusives.” It seems Kenny Omega falls on the side of a lot of video game enthusiasts right now, who seem to be looking towards grabbing themselves a PlayStation 5 following Sony’s slamdunk of a conference last month. It’s not much of a surprise seeing asOmega recently revealed thatFinal Fantasy 7 Remakewas easily his favorite game of the year, with the PlayStation exclusive being followed byResident Evil 3, Streets of Rage 4,andNioh 2.

Omega will also star in his own video game before long, with AEWallegedly making its way to consoles in the future. The game will likely be more arcade-focused, with Cody Rhodes hinting that it could look to follow in the footsteps of titles likeWWF No Mercy.
