Thankfully, most of the problems have been minimal and are easy to work around. On the other hand, some of these problems have left players with broken consoles and a need to contact tech support.
14PS5 - Data Transfer
Some unlucky gamers have encountered issues when transferring data over from their PS4 system. Specifically, this problem occurs when connecting the two consoles through the USB ports. This problem has been said to occur when using the USB port in the back of thePS5 console.It has also occurred when connecting the consoles using a LAN cable. It has been reported that using the USB port in the front of the console can help with the problem. Another fix for the issue is a full factory reset of the console, but that is only if the issue persists as it will delete all user data from the system.
13Xbox Series X - Automatic Shut Down
Microsoft fans have voiced their disappointment about this rather serious Series X problem. It appears as though some systems have been shutting down on their own. It is reported that this problem only occurs when booting up a game. 12PS5 - External Hard Drive Issues
Players have reported even more problems with transferring data from their PS4 to the PS5. This time it doesn’t involve the USB port, but rather the external hard drive. Players have reported that while transferring data to the PS5 with an external hard drive their data has gotten corrupted. After the data gets corrupted it is gone for good so players better watch out for this bug. An easy way around it would be to skip the external hard drive and go straight to downloading and installing games. Save data can be downloaded from the cloud on the PS5.
11Xbox Series X - Disconnecting Controllers
This problem briefly appeared on Xbox One consoles, so it could be possible that Microsoft will be able to fix this problem easily. Players have been experiencing a controller issue that causes their controllers to mysteriously disconnect while in use.

After the controllers disconnect they can’t reconnect and must be hardwired back into the console. This will allow the controllers to reconnect for a short while, but players have reported that the controllers will disconnect again after a while. 10PS5 - Controller Connectivity Issues
It seems the PS5 has a similar issue to the Xbox Series X. Players have reported connectivity issues with the newDualSense Controllers. Players have reported that some games will get stuck in download queue limbo. This means that the currently downloading game will get stuck in a state where they are downloading constantly without any chance of finishing. Others have reported getting an error message that states the game cannot be downloaded. Reports say that a factory reset can fix the issue.
7Xbox Series X - App Issues
Microsofthas acknowledged this problem and an update is set for later this month to help fix it. Players have reported problems with a few media apps, screenshots, and playing DVDs and BluRays. When trying to watch DVDs, players have reported getting a black screen.

Players have reported that putting the console into rest mode causes the system to crash. After the crash, the database must be rebuilt. During this time is when the critical error can occur that bricks the console. Disabling rest mode helps prevent this problem from happening. Hopefully, Sony can resolve this issue quickly before too many people are affected.
5Xbox Series X - Smart Delivery and Quick Resume
Players have discovered two problems that Microsoft may be fixing soon. Reports have come in that state that the Smart Delivery system has been causing the system to believe a game is not fully installed. To go along with this issue, some players have reported that games have not been quick resuming correctly. It is reported that some of the affected games have had quick resume disabled on them to help with the issue until it is fixed.
