THQ Nordic has announced the Collector’s Edition of theAlone in the Darkremake, and it will come with some creepy items. This year players will see the return ofAlone in the Dark, one of the horror genre’s most famous franchises, with a new look for the current generation.
Revealed in 2022, theAlone in the Darkremake will feature an entirely original story penned by Mikael Hedberg, one of the authors ofAmnesia: The Dark Descent. Set in the 1920s,Alone in the Darkfollows Emily Hartwood, a young woman searching for her missing uncle with the help of private investigator Edward Carnby. TheAlone in the Darkremake takes place in the American Gothic South, where players must explore their environments, fight to survive, and discover thesecrets of the Derceto mansion.

Alone in the Darkhas announced a Collector’s Edition with some creepy items. To embark onAlone in the Dark’s story, players won’t need any prior knowledge, though THQ Nordic says the game will have a nostalgic feel for fans, who will “recognize some things.” The Collector’s Edition comes with a console or PC copy of the game, a 10-inch statue of The Dark Man, and a 4-inch miniature of Ostadte.Alone in the Darkplayers will also receive the SteelBook, a “do not disturb” door hanger, and a set of Derceto 1930 wall stickers. The Collector’s Edition includes the downloadable content Derceto 1992 Costume Pack, Director’s Commentary Mode, and Vintage Horror Filter Pack.
Gamers looking to purchase theAlone in the DarkCollector’s Edition should be quick, as this edition of one offall 2023’s most anticipated gameswill come in a limited run. Only 5,000 copies will be sold worldwide, with copies 1 through 20 available at the THQ Nordic Vienna Store. Copies 21 to 4,999 of theAlone in the DarkCollector’s Edition will be available on THQ Nordic’s online store and at select retail partners. Finally, copy 5,000 will be delivered to the Embracer Games Archive, a game preservation archive based in Sweden.
TheAlone in the Darkremake reimagines the first game in the trilogy released in 1992 and is the first release since 2015’sAlone in the Dark: Illumination. While the game industry is experiencing a golden age of remakes,2023 has been a good year for horror game remakes. ForAlone in the Darkfans, there is the anticipation of how much the remake will please with its new elements, and how much it will keep the original aura.
