Summary
After what seems like a never-ending wait season after season,Apex Legendswill offer Cross-Progression with the launch of season 19: Ignite. Of course,Apex Legendshas a lot of seasonal content on offer, including new character Conduit, changes to the Storm Point map, a new Battle Pass, and more.
Cross-Progression goes hand in hand withCross-play, thoughApex Legendshas had the latter since October 2020. This means that for the past three years, players could compete against others regardless of platform, but they could not have everything they owned on one platform. With the launch of Season 19, players will be required to complete a mandatory account merger, which will see all of their cosmetics and whatnot together, regardless of platform, moving forward.

Cross-play and Cross-progression are not simple features to implement, and it’s somethingApex Legendsdeveloper Respawn Entertainment has been working on for quite some time. The way it works is pretty simple. Instead of having separate accounts for PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox, players are able to merge those accounts wherever they playApex. If someone plays on their PC and their Xbox, they will not have access to all unlockables that they may have per account, which becomes one account. This includes all collected cosmetics, badges, achievements, and so forth across all accounts, so if someone so happened to haveApex Legendson Switch, on PC, on PlayStation, and on Xbox, everything will have one home come Season 19.
With something so technically complex,Apex Legendsplayers may be wary about completing the merger when they unlock. It would be unfortunate to lose something like anApex Legendsheirloomor something like that, but given the extensive testing and work Respawn Entertainment has done on it, it’s doubtful the company would let something like that fall through the cracks. It’s something the fanbase has wanted for a long time, something that is complex to achieve, and it’s good to know that Respawn has taken so much time in developing the feature.
As for what elseApex LegendsSeason 19 holds, fans are no doubt the most curious about Conduit. It’ll be interesting to see how she impactstheApex Legendsmetasince she is the first “healer” archetype character since Lifeline. She focuses on Shields whereas Lifeline focuses on health, ensuring there’s some synergy between the two should both be paired together.
Apex Legendsis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
