Though many Bethesda fans are currently obsessing over the recent release of the company’shighly-anticipated new IPStarfield, plenty of gamers are still adventuring through the lands ofSkyrim. This is to be expected, given how much content the game offers, despite its age. On Reddit, user rbmbox posted an old PlayStation 4 video they found of theirSkyrimplaythrough which shows their Dragonborn seemingly turning into some version of Marvel’s Ghost Rider. The footage starts out innocently enough, with the player aiming to take down a dragon flying overhead. The Dragonborn uses a shout, and just a few seconds later, the dragon lands to allow the character to ride it into the sky. Unfortunately, the flight hilariously coincides with the animation of the creature’s death and absorption of its Dragon Soul, making the Dragonborn turn into Ghost Rider as they rode a flaming, dying dragon around the skies ofSkyrim.
Comments on the Reddit thread expressed amusement at the situation, easily linking the original poster’s experience to that of Ghost Rider. The comic book character’s vehicle of choice is a motorcycle covered with flames, and the Redditors made the connection with rbmbox’s Dragonborn who ended up riding a flaming dragon. One asked about the circumstance that made the scene happen, wondering if the character’s companion killed the dragon after they had used the Bend Will shout on it, essentially causing the glitch. Rbmbox guesses that the commenter was probably right about the companion, though they were not able to replicate the sameglitch in theirSkyrimplaythroughagain.
These kinds offunny moments inSkyrimare usually what players expect to see in forums nowadays. This just goes to show that even though the action RPG has aged, the highly active and engaged community is what makes it still relevant to gamers today.
