EA and DICE release the latest update forBattlefield 2042and the patch notes for 2.4.1 indicate that a lot of nagging gameplay issues have now been fixed. It’s been a long and winding road forBattlefield 2042, originally launching with a slew of problems, underwhelming critical receptions, and complaints from the general player base. However, DICE remained persistent throughout the first year,initially delaying Season One ofBattlefield 2042DLCin favor of making fixes and updates to get the core game in a place that players would be happy with.

Thanks to consistent updates and a new seasonal content model,Battlefield 2042has managed to completely recover from the tailspinit found itself in at launch. New content and substantial updates have helped to elevate the experience, even pulling new players into the game. After reworking various maps, bringing back the classic class sytem for specialists, and adding tons of quality of life features, DICE continues to work on the smaller things still impacting the game, having recently launched update 2.4.1.

Following therelease of Update 4.2 inBattlefield 2042, which finally saw the relaunch of the Discarded map, DICE released the first follow-up patch which takes aim at various reported issues. The first fix in the list actually fixes a reported issue with Capture Points D1 and D2 on Discarded where players would occasionally spawn into the map out of bounds. Specialists were also looked at in this update, fixing a couple of visual issues with Dozer including his tendency to skywalk while using ladders as well as grenades clipping through his shield.

TheBattlefield 2042update also targets some gameplay improvements as well, including fixing a bug that forced an equipped melee takedown on one 2042 specialist to be applied to the rest in that same class. Incorrect attachment stats for ammo and rate of fire from the first slot of the Plus Menu has also been fixed, giving fans a better and accurate idea of how their equipped weapon will perform.

Thankfully, it seems like this latest update is just the beginning as the news from DICE indicated that players should stay tuned for further updates throughout May for upcoming Quality of Life previews. In fact, a recent dev notes preview showed off some of the changes coming to Vault Weapons during Season 5, takingguns from the Portal mode and adapting them to fit Battlefield 2042.
