Summary
Boruto: Two Blue Vortexstunned fans yet again with a brilliant chapter this month and it has certainly raised the excitement through the roof as a beloved character, Kurama, who was previously killed off in the first part of the series, has now returned officially. Fans had been theorizing about Kurama’s return for quite a while now, and it finally happened in this month’s chapter, asthe nine-tailed beast returned inside of Himawari Uzumaki.
Of course, this is a joyous moment for all Boruto fans worldwide, especially Naruto fans of the old, who have come to love and care for Kurama deeply over the years. However, while it is great that Kurama has returned, quite a few questions remain unanswered pertaining to how this magnificent return was made possible in the first place.
Kurama’s Death In Boruto
Kurama Died While Fighting Isshiki In Boruto
Kurama was one of the most important parts of theBorutoseries, given that he has always been one with Naruto. Ever since Naruto was born, Kurama was a part of him, however, this changed in the Boruto series when Naruto Uzumaki had to fight againstnone other than Isshiki Otsutsuki, who was by far the strongest individual that he had come across at this point in the story. His strength was unrivaled, and even with Naruto’s skillset, he could not take him on in battle.
Defeating him was not possible through normal means, and as a result, Kurama came up with a special plan to defeat this monstrously powerful individual. By using his and Naruto’s chakra as kernels, Kurama devised a strategy to give rise to a completely new power, and this technique came to be known as Baryon Mode. This was an incredibly powerful Jutsu that saw Kurama and Naruto absolutely dominate the battle against Isshiki. More importantly, they were able to shave his chakra and his lifespan and, eventually, leave him with just a few minutes of life.
Well, I guess this is it. I’ve got to go, but be careful. You ain’t gonna have superhuman strength anymore. So if you overdo it, you’ll end up joining me in no time.
Essentially, Naruto Uzumaki and Kurama won this battle, however, the price to pay was absolutely massive. Kurama had not revealed a big secret to Naruto when this power-up was accessed, knowing that he would reject the proposition otherwise. The price for this power was Kurama’s very own life, and at the end of the fight, he ended up dying, leaving behind Naruto Uzumaki for the very first time in his life. Ever since Kurama’s death, the Boruto series has been somewhat underwhelming, and this is largely down to the fact that Naruto Uzumaki was cast aside, and made a liability, which the fan certainly did not appreciate. However, the vast majority of the fans held the belief that Kurama would eventually come back, due to being an extremely important character that the authors simply couldn’t afford to kill.
Kurama Is Reborn Inside Of Himawari
Kurama Was Seen Returning In Boruto Chapter 9
Just as the fans had predicted, Kurama did indeed return in Boruto. As soon asBoruto: Two Blue Vortexbegan, fans knew that quite a lot of the things in the story would now have to change. Killing off Kurama for shock value was certainly a brave decision, however, it was one that would split the fanbase, and it certainly did. However, one thing that the authors knew, for sure, would bring immense joy to the fans and ensure that they continue reading this beautiful story was to bring back Kurama.
At the same time, Kurama’s legacy was way too important for him to be killed off and just forgotten. Thankfully, Kishimoto has brought back Kurama officially in chapter 9 ofTBV. This was confirmed when Jura and Hidari entered Konoha effortlessly. They were tracing down Naruto’s chakra, and they wanted to consume Naruto Uzumaki, who they believed to be the Jinchuriki of the Nine Tails. However, much to their surprise, their trail Led them to none other than Himawari Uzumaki. There, it was confirmed that Himawari was actually the host for Kurama.
InBoruto: Two Blue Vortexchapter 9, fans got their first proper look at Kurama inside of Himawari. After Himawariwas taken away from Jura and Hidari, thanks to the incredible team effort of Team 10, Himawari finally got a vision of the inward plane of existence inside of her. There, Kurama finally showed up, however, in a baby form. The Kurama that fans saw seems to be the same one that was inside of Naruto, however, only much smaller. Kurama mentioned that the Ten-Tails sensed him, implying that he has previous experience of knowing the beast, which it derived from the Fourth Great Ninja War. Kurama also doesn’t appear to be hostile at all. He asked Himawari if she knew who he was, and she replied that she certainly did.
How Did Kurama Survive?
Kurama’s Survival Is A Thing Of Mystery
It is safe to say that Kurama’s return toBorutois an exciting turn of events in the story. It is a change that the fans absolutely love. However, at the same time, one has fans wonder as to how he came back in the first place. For starters, one needs to take into consideration the fact that Tailed Beasts never truly die. If a Tailed Beast is killed, they respawn simply because they are monsters of chakra and cannot be killed. For this reason, whenever a Jinchuriki is killed, the Tailed Beast dies with them. However, they later materialize and re-emerge. This was mentioned in the story on many occasions, specificallyby the likes of Minato, and even by the Fourth Raikage.
Which one is he? This is odd. What in the world is going on here?
However, the case of Kurama is different. This is because Kurama’s entire chakra was burnt up because it was used as raw material for a new form of energy. There was no chakra left and it was completely erased from existence. This meant that Kurama was actually deleted from existence itself, which meant that he could not respawn at some point later down the line.
Furthermore, if that was the case, Kurama should have returned a few days or maybe even hours after he died. This is supported by characters inTwo Blue Vortexas well, as Shikadai mentioned that Kyuubi being around should be impossible.
The only way for Kurama to survive is for his chakra to have specifically been passed down to Himawari. There are only two ways in which Kurama could have made this possible. The first way is for Kurama to have split up a piece of his chakra and to give it to Himawari just as a backup plan. Kurama is a wise character and he could certainly have done this to make sure that he has a way to return. The other way is for Kurama’s chakra, which fans know mixed with Naruto over the years,to have passed to Himawari.
From there onwards, this chakra could have resulted in a tiny version of Kurama. However, then, one would wonder as to why Boruto did not get this chakra, or if he does have a piece of Kurama inside of himself as well. Regardless, right now, the idea that makes the most sense is for Kurama’s chakra to have been passed on to Himawari, either intentionally by Kurama,or inadvertently by Naruto Uzumaki.
