Dead Space, one of the most applauded horror games of all time, gave one player an unexpected challenge with a strange glitch. While playing the praisedDead Spaceremake, the player stumbled into a difficult situation thanks to the game taking away some important items.
Since being released in 2008,Dead Spacehas birthed a long-lasting and effective horror franchise that greeted fans with a remake of the original installment earlier this year in January. Despite the various horror titles that have been released throughout the history of gaming,Dead Spaceis hailed as one of the scariest gamesof all time. Known for its difficult survival gameplay, an unexpected glitch could really hinder a player’s run and make the experience even more challenging than it already is. Unfortunately, one player found themselves falling victim to an incredibly inconvenient glitch.

A Reddit user known as IkeaSpartan shared a clip of the glitch to theDead Spacesubreddit. After loading up an old save file, the glitch caused the game’s protagonist Isaac to lose his armor and all weapons, leaving him completely vulnerable in a game where that’s an instant death sentence. AlthoughDead Spacehas fixed bugs in the past, this specific glitch seems to be a new addition to the list; and not a welcome one.
IkeaSpartan joked about the glitch by stating they accidentally discovered a new difficulty mode in the game. WithDead Spacebeing known for its difficulty, the joke does indeed hold a lot of truth. Some comments on IkeaSpartan’s post stated that they wouldn’t even try playing without armor or weapons on the game’s easiest possible difficulty. It’s a baffling glitch that many people in the comments have clearly not experienced themselves, making it seem like IkeaSpartan might be the firstDead Spaceplayer to experience such a problem.
Many believeDead Spaceis one of the greatest games in the horror genre, and the remake has only furthered that belief. With so much praise and love for the first game’s remake, hopefully aDead Space 2remakecomes next. However, no matter how great a game is, sometimes glitches are inevitable, and they never appear during convenient times. While glitches and bugs can be incredibly entertaining and funny, other times these glitches can make playing a game even harder than they are. A game likeDead Spaceis not a game where one would want a glitch like this to happen, so hopefully this is a one time occurrence for IkeaSpartan.
