WhileCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warcertainly has its fans, reception to the game has paled in comparison to 2019’sCall of Duty: Modern Warfare. TheModern Warfarereboot from Infinity Ward made some bold steps forward for the blockbuster first-person shooter franchise, broke sales records, and is hailed as one of the better FPS games that released on last generation consoles. The game still has a massive number of active players that want new content updates, and as it so happens, they got one recently.
With the release ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarSeason 2 Reloaded, a new update was also released forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare. TheCall of Duty: Modern Warfareupdate adds the Killhouse map to the game, making its return fromCall of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. A Killhouse 24/7 mode has also been added to the availableCall of Duty: Modern Warfareplaylists so fans can get their fill of the new map.

Two other maps were also made available inCall of Duty: Modern Warfareas of the latest update, though they are only accessible in Private Matches at the time of this writing. The maps include the new Drainage map forGunfight, as well as the Al-Raab Airbase map for standard multiplayer. It’s unclear when these maps will be added to the rotation of maps in the game’s online multiplayer, but one has to imagine that it will happen sooner rather than later.
What’s interesting about this new update is that it has added maps that were previously believed to be part of therumoredCall of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 7. For the uninitiated, leakers claimed thatCall of Duty: Modern Warfarewould be getting a Season 7 content update, which would have included these maps, along with an additional map for Gunfight in the form of Townhouse, though that didn’t make it in this update.
It was also believed thatSoap would debut as an OperatorinCall of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 7, but that also has yet to happen. The addition of these maps seems to be a good indication thatCall of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 7 isn’t actually happening, but it’s still nice that fans got some new maps to play on regardless.
WhileCall of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 7 is unlikely, fans should be able to look forward to a direct sequel. Rumors point to aCall of Duty: Modern Warfaresequel as 2022’sCall of Dutygame, so it will be interesting to see if that prediction is correct.
