Call of Duty: Modern Warfarebegins its season 2 run tomorrow, and developer Infinity Ward has offered up a look at the content players can expect over the course of the season. Based on what is already known about the upcoming content, players can expect a whole lot of fan-favorite additions to appear duringCall of Duty: Modern Warfareseason 2.
The season 2 roadmap was actually leaked from an Xbox One account first, but Charlie Intel then confirmed that it was genuine. It was already known thatthe map “Rust"and the operator Ghost are returning toModern Warfarefor season 2, but the leaked roadmap includes a peek at all the new modes, maps, weapons, and operators coming to the game.

Modern Warfare’s season 2 roadmap is divided up into two major sections: the content arriving on day 1 of the new season, and the content schedules to roll out over the course of the season. Day 1 alone is bringing plenty, including two new multiplayer maps, Rust and Atlas Superstore; a new Ground War map, Zhokov Boneyard; and a new Gunfight map, Bazaar. It’ll also bringtwo new multiplayer modes: Gunfight Tournament, a single-elimination 2v2 firefight mode, and CDL Playlist, where all settings and weapons are altered to reflect the ruleset of theCall of Duty League pros. Players will get access to the operator Simon “Ghost” Riley beginning on day one, plus the Grau 5.56 and Striker 45 weapons.
As the season continues, it’ll introduce one additional multiplayer map (Khandor Hideout) and a whole bunch of multiplayer modes: Infected Ground War, NVG Reinforce, and Gunfight Variants will all make theirModern Warfaredebut, and there will be more MP modes to come too. Two moremultiplayer operatorswill be added to the game, Talon and Mace, and a brand new rifle–unfortunately, nothing else is known about it, since the rifle is merely listed as “Classified” on the roadmap.
Season 2 ofModern Warfarekicks off on February 11 at 10 AM PST, and players should be sure to keep an eye out for added content in the coming weeks. There will also be a new Battle Pass featuring Ghost as its main operator; buying the pass in-game will cost 1000 Call of Duty Points.
