Call of Duty: Warzonehas seemingly been endlessly criticized since the battle royale launched in 2020. That hasn’t changed since the arrival ofWarzone’s Season 4 update, either, which dropped just a few days ago. Since the Season 4 update, much of the criticism has been focused on in-game lag and desync issues inCall of Duty: Warzone. But there’s also a growing focus on another issue, too. The “Time to Kill,” or TTK, inWarzoneSeason 4 is being described as shorter than ever, though it may be a different issue altogether.
A thread on theCall of Duty: Warzonesubreddit called attention to Season 4’s TTK recently, though it was neither the first nor likely the last to do so. The thread’s title asked other Redditors whether they feel like they’re being killed after “what feels like 3-4 shots?” Reddit user 070119 explains that they are dying after what sounds like 3-4 shots, which is incredibly fast. They say “it’s ridiculous” that they’re dying so fast, but are curious whether they’re the only one to experience theTTK issue.

What’s particularly notable about the Reddit user’s post is that they’re saying they’re dying to what seems like a very low TTK and not getting kills with what feels like a very low TTK. If theCall of Duty: Warzonedevelopers had dramatically changed TTK in theSeason 4 update, it would be easy to tell both when getting kills and dying. That’s not what appears to be happening, however.
The comments in the post draw attention to this fact and draw an unsurprising conclusion. They say that TTK hasn’t been changed so much as this is just another symptom ofCall of Duty: Warzone’s ongoing server issues. Basically, players aren’t hearing shots as they’re happening. Instead, they hear four shots despite the servers already doing 8 or 12 shots worth of damage. These allegations would imply a level of desynchronization between the player andWarzone’s servers that would make the game close to unplayable.
These server issues would also explain why the TTK change isn’t being felt when the player is shooting at others. It would still take just as many bullets, if not more, to eliminate an enemy whilesuffering fromWarzone’s desync. And it would be much more difficult to realize, as the longer TTK could be excused by poor aim or something similar.
While any server issues or desync issues are understandably very serious and somethingCall of Duty: Warzone’s developersshould address as soon as possible, there are still some questions. Criticism ofCall of Duty: Warzonebeing so ever-present, it can be difficult to gauge how widespread issues are and how serious they can really be. With hope, the issues are easy to solve and addressed quickly.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
