Call of Duty: WarzoneSeason 6 will bring an end to the ongoingBlack Ops Cold Warstoryline, and it seems like it should serve as an exciting sendoff for the game. Not only will classicBlack Opsprotagonist Alex Mason be featured as the main Operator, but theCall of Duty: Warzonemap Verdansk 84 will be taking some damage.
In thenewCall of Duty: Warzonecutscene, Adler is shown strapped to a chair. Surrounded by TV screens and looking at a few agents that are staring back through some glass, the moment is a great callback to the originalBlack Opsgame. Just like Mason was interrogated so that Hudson could break through the brainwashing, Mason helps Adler escape Stitch’s mind control process. While this is happening, Stitch is dealing with a problem in Verdansk.

Somehow, Adler was able to resist the Numbers enough to fight against Stitch while working for him. While he did help cover up theSatellite crash in Season 4, he also planted several explosives in Verdansk. Meant to slow down Stitch’s plan, the villain can be seen with a new Operator who attempts to defuse the bombs. While he does boast a unique design and a prosthetic leg, which could make him a popular playable character, he fails to successfully disarm the explosives.
As a result, Verdansk is destroyed once again. However, it is unclear just how much the map will be changed. While a crane is shown collapsing and the stadium is torn in half, this could be the extent of the damage. Either way, with this being the last Season for the current story andthe new Pacific mapdropping very soon, changing up Verdansk makes sense. The cutscene ends with Stitch mentioning “unfinished business” with Adler before the protagonists arrive in Verdansk.
With Alex Mason used for the main Season image, it can be expected that he will be the Operator tied to the nextCall of Dutybattle pass. With tons of potential for fun skins, emotes, and voice lines, he could be a terrific addition to the lineup. A damaged Verdansk map could be fun to explore as well, as it has been a while since it changed significantly. Lastly, players could be seeing a final cutscene tied to an event or easter egg, similar to howCall of Duty: Modern Warfare’sWarzonestory came to a close.
While there is stillroom for Adler to die, as he did not appear in theBlack Opsgames set afterCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, his fate is now a lot less clear. Fans will not have to wait long for answers, though, as Season 6 kicks off on October 7.
