Melee Executions are one of the most enjoyable features ofCall of Duty: Warzone. Sneaking up behind an opponent or catching them unaware and getting an easy elimination is a rare victory on its own. Being on the opposite side of an Execution inCall of Duty: Warzone, however, is equally intense, just in the opposite direction. It can be devastating to lose aCall of Dutymatch to an Execution when one is close to winning. Luckily, it seems someCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers have discovered a way to escape an Execution after its started.
Before anyCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers start getting anxious, the “strat” isn’t necessarily going to be useful, especially in the heat of battle. That doesn’t make it any less interesting, though. A Reddit post from user SilentEnigma09 shows how the strategy works with a video, shown from the perspective of two different players; one player does theMelee Executionand the other escapes. They do this through a well-timed usage of a Stim.

The timing really is the start and end of this strategy. In order for it to be effective, it looks like theCall of Duty: Warzoneplayerhas to use their Stim as soon as the Execution begins. If they do that, instead of the Execution going through, the target will escape and can run away like normal. It’s not a safe scenario, but it’s better than dying immediately to an Execution.
The Reddit thread’s top comment is a reasonable statement that this type of scenario could be impossible to see happen in-game. The timing is very specific, to the point where players almost have to know the Execution is coming before it happens in order to escape from it. One person, however, has video of them doing it in-game, proving that it can be done. To be fair, they don’t do it as a reaction. It’s just a coincidence that they use theStimas an Execution happens. It did happen in a live game, though.
While the Stim Execution escape may not be easy to pull off in a live game, it is still valuable information. If players encounter a situation where they have an Execution target, but have reason to suspect their target could use a Stim at any second, they could opt for not doing an Execution andeliminating theirWarzoneopponentnormally.
This is, obviously, a bug inCall of Duty: Warzone. While it could definitely be frustrating for someone performing an elimination, only for their target to escape, it also is interesting from a gameplay perspective. Those who know about the bug have an advantage and can play around it, adding some depth toCall of Duty: Warzone’s action. That’s more than can be said for many ofCall of Duty: Warzone’s bugs, unfortunately.
