ManyCyberpunk 2077fans will be excited about thePhantom Libertycontent that’s coming soon, and the developer recently revealed that the DLC will come with different endings, as well as a new ending for the base game. Theopen world genre is still popular among gamers, with plenty of titles offering hundreds of hours of content, and the dystopian sci-fi RPG from CD Projekt Red is just one of many possible choices, despite the reputation it had when it launched in 2020.
Cyberpunk 2077Phantom Libertyannounced its release daterecently, with the expansion coming September 26. The DLC will bring with it a new story and characters, set in the district of Dogtown. While Keanu Reeves will be making a return as the foul-mouthed Johnny Silverhand, the star power of Idris Elba will be of great interest to a lot of fans, as the actor will be playing the role of Solomon Reed. On top of that, the studio has been speaking about what else players can look forward to.

In a recent interview with WCCFTech, CDPR spoke about the upcomingCyberpunk 2077content, diving into such details as the full scope of the expansion and why the team picked Elba. Game Director and VP Gabe Amatangelo also spoke about wherePhantom Libertywill take place in terms of the main game, confirming that the new story will occur “in the midst” of it. Amatangelo goes on to say that the new content will have “different endings” based on what happens during the story and adds that, depending on how the DLC ends, it’s possible to unlock a new ending for the base game.
Obviously, the director doesn’t go into detail about what this ending, or any of the others, will entail, but it suggests that CD Projekt Red is not leaving Night City behind entirely. It was also announced recently thatCyberpunk 2077 Phantom Libertywill bring updates to the base gamein other ways, which is particularly interesting for those who may not wish to purchase the expansion. Those players will still get some of the features from the DLC, but obviously will not get the new story or characters.
During its development and marketing prior to release,Cyberpunk 2077’s ace up its sleeve was Keanu Reeves' presence, putting him front and center in promotional material, which only really added to the hype. Now that the game itself is enjoying the success it should have at the start, fans will be keen to jump back in and see whatPhantom Libertyhas to offer.
