CD Projekt RED confirmed thatCyberpunk 2077will be missing a popular character customization feature. While the game will featureNSFW customization features like genital options, it seems that not all fans are happy with the options that will be on offer.
In a direct message on Twitter, aCyberpunk 2077fan asked if there are “any plans to be able to customize voices when you’re creating your character.” It had been confirmed that there would be male and female voice tones for player character V but the fan wanted to know if there would be a pitch slider. They found that V’s voice in theCyberpunk 2077Night City Wire gameplay trailerwas “gruff and aggressive” and wanted to be able to change it. However, CD Projekt RED responded that there will not be a “possibility” in the game.

The news will be disappointing to fans who are looking forward to how extensiveCyberpunk 2077’s character customization options will be. TheCyberpunk 2077character customization feature allows changes to V’s appearance, such as tattoos, scars, piercings, and more surprising choices such as nose length and ear height. With so much to offer here, some may have expected to see more than two voice audio options in the game.
It seems unlikely that CD Projekt RED will add any more voice options to the game as it has other, big plans forCyberpunk 2077DLC. These DLC plans have been delayed due to the game’s release date being delayed from September to November. With online multiplayer also being planned, it’s unclear when the developer would have the time to re-record all of the player character’s lines.
As upsetting as it may be, CD Projekt RED will give players other ways to make theirCyberpunk 2077protagonist feels like theirs. Players will be able to choose from one of threeLifepaths for their version of V, from an Arasaka employee with Corpo, a lone wanderer type as the Nomad, and a Street Kid who grew up on the streets of Night City. These different choices offer different starting missions and can affect how V talks and works with NPCs in the game.
Then there is theCyberpunk 2077class system. While other games have class systems that lock players into their choices,Cyberpunk 2077will allow players to customize their character’s skills as they want. None of these other character customization options can replace having a pitch slider or just a third voice to choose from, but it may help to soften the blow.
Cyberpunk 2077comes out on November 19 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions to follow.
