Dead Island 2’s Legendary Weaponsare some of the best weapons in the game, and locating them all is one of the best things to do across Hell-A after beating the game. Redacted seems like a tricky puzzle side quest at first, but once players know where to look, it’s a quick way to get one of the best weapons in the game.
Redacted becomes available only after players complete all ofDead Island 2’s story missions, plus a side quest called Cremains of the Day,located at the northern lifeguard tower on Venice Beach, where players get the tower keycard.

Completing Cremains of the Day triggers a zombie calledLt. Fordto spawn inside one of the tents on the main beach military base as located on the map.
To start Redacted, players must find and kill Lt. Ford, who drops the Redacted paper trail quest to pick up and solve. He’s usually hanging around inside the military tent and is a standard zombie to defeat.Collect the Redacted paper document collectible to begin the quest.

There’s no map waypoint directing players where to go next, so open up the game’s Journals menu under the Lost and Found tab to expand and read the Redacted collectible page message for a clue. The page indicates players must head to shipping container 78 to find the next part of the paper trail. Players must repeat this strategy as they search several containers leading to the final one.
Players can find shipping container 78 on the beach next to container 75. To get inside, break the boxes inside container 75, climb up to the roof, and walk across the wooden planks to drop into container 78. Inside, players can find the next paper trail clue called Damaged In Transit, pointing players to container 58.

Head through the airlock evacuation tunnel to reach the lifeguard tower, where container 58 is just outside. It’s shut, but one ofDead Island 2’s Crusherzombies bursts out as players get closer. Defeat them and head inside the container to find the final paper trail document called Special Delivery, an audio recording of Delgado and Rodriguez that tells players the last container to check is number 66.

To find container 66, players need to use the push switch to head inside and out the back of the lifeguard tower towards the Cremains of the Day side quest death pits. Container 66 is cleverly hidden between containers 67 and 63.
Kill the group of zombies outside 66, using the electrical wiring to take them out, and collect Delgado’s supply case key dropped by one of the zombies. Players can also turn off the generator behind 67 to enter.

Jump across the electrified puddle to enter container 66 and locate the Priority Asset case at the back of the room.Open it to complete the Redacted quest and pick up the Bloodthirsty Bodycount legendary weapon, one ofDead Island 2’s best guns.
Players can now return to the lifeguard tower where Rodriguez is located to find and open Delgado’s supply case on the floor by the workbench usingDelgado’s supply case key to get the Mutilator Pistol, one ofDead Island 2’s superior weapons.

Dead Island 2is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
