TheDead Spacefranchise has been dormant for nearly a decade, so theDead Spaceremake reveal at the EA Play 2021 eventcame as a welcome surprise to many fans. However, all that was shown of theDead Spaceremake was a very brief cinematic trailer featuring the Ishimura spaceship, a short look at Isaac Clarke, and then the game’s logo. Considering how little was shown of theDead Spaceremake, fans can be forgiven if they assumed the game was years away, but as it turns out, it may be releasing much sooner than expected.

According to VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb, wholeaked theDead Spaceremakewell before it was officially announced, the game is aiming for a fall 2022 release as part of EA’s 2023 fiscal year lineup. Grubb doesn’t provide a more specific release window beyond that, but smart money would be EA trying to get the game out in time for Halloween; maybe theDead Spaceremake will be one of the company’s big releases for October 2022.

Fiscal year 2023 would also include the first few months of 2023, so maybe theDead Spaceremake will slip to early 2023 instead. Grubb notes in his report that video game release dates are delayed all the time, and it’s certainly within the realm of possibility for that to happen with theDead Spaceremake as well.Dead Space 2and3released in January and February, respectively, so there’s certainly precedent for these games to come out early in the year instead.

Grubb also believes that fans will see more of theDead Spaceremake before the year is out, suggesting that a trailer could drop on theDead SpaceYouTube channelor that the game will be featured at The Game Awards in December. Since Grubb was the one that accurately leaked theDead Spaceremake ahead of its official reveal, one has to assume that he’s on the money with this information as well, though fans should take this all with a grain of salt until EA provides official details.

In any case, this is good news for those who don’t want to wait a terribly long time to play theDead Spaceremake. In the meantime, it will be exciting to see the game in action and learn all of what it has in store for players. We know that theDead Spaceremake will have cut content, but beyond that it’s believed to be a mostly faithful recreation of the original game. More information should come to light in the months ahead.
