As one of the PS5’s premier launch games, theDemon’s Soulsremake is one of the titles early adopters of the system may want to get their hands on. It’s a brutally difficult RPG with sharp graphics and a lot to discover, though certain aspects of it may leave players scratching their heads. One befuddling problem is regaining health after death, which may cause some confusion.

Demon’s Soulsgives players two distinct forms. The first is a Human Form, which grants players a full health bar and has some other effects on the world — more on that later. The other is the Soul Form, which players are stuck in after dying.Demon’s Soulsplayers die regularly, and even the first boss is designed to kill them off quickly, introducing them to Soul Form and The Nexus.

Undoubtedly, players are going to want to get their health back, but the game doesn’t exactly make it clear how to do so. There are, however, a number of ways to go about this. The first is to kill a boss, which will return players to their Human Form and restore their health to full. Alternatively, players can use a Stone of Ephemeral Eyes, a consumable item that will restore players to their Human Form. That being said, it’s a pretty rare item, so players won’t want to burn through them.

It’s also possible to invade another player’s world and kill them as a Black Phantom, or help them defeat a boss as a Blue Phantom. Both options will restore the Human Form, causing players to regain their health. It’s important to note that being in Human Form has its own set of drawbacks. While in Human Form, it’s possible to be invaded by other players that want to engage in PvP, which can lead to a loss of progress, depending on where and when the attacks take place. Dying while in Human Form will also lowerthe World Tendency, which will eventually make the game harder if players repeatedly die.

As an alternative, it’s best to try and findDemon’s Soul’sCling Ringearly on. The ring grants additional health while in Spirit Form, boosting it up from 50% to 75%. While it isn’t as great as having full health, it does balance things out a bit, it emphasizes the advantages of being in Soul Form while mitigating the disadvantages of being in Human Form.

No matter what, players are still in for a challenge, but ifDemon’s Soulsreviewsare any indicator, it’s a challenge worth experiencing. There’s a ton out there for players to explore, even if it takes some patience to find everything it has on offer.
