As he becomes more acquainted with the dark realities of his world, he joinsthe Demon Slayer Corpsand befriends Zenitsu and Inosuke.
In his life-changing journey, Tanjiro not only comes across some of the most talented warriors, but also frightening demons, yet he frequently discovers he is stronger than most of them. That’s not always the case though. Here are all the characters inDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaibawho are stronger than him.

11Giyu Tomioka
Tanjiro’s Most Reliable Friend
Giyu Tomiokawas the first demon slayer who came across Tanjiro and Nezuko after their families were butchered. He was not only considerate enough to let Nezuko live, but also made sure that Tanjiro received the right guidance from Urokodaki. Then he saved Kamado’s life one more time in the Mount Natagumo arc when he killed Rui.
It was only because of Giyu and Urokodaki’s personal assurance that Tanjiro and Nezuko found some semblance of acceptance by the Hashiras and escaped execution. Despite being the Water Hashira, Giyu always doubted himself, and it wasn’t until the Hashira training that he started gaining confidence. Tomioka later went on to fight against Akaza and Muzan and surpassed his own expectations in that barbaric battle.

10Obanai Iguro
The Serpent Hashira
Obanai Igurois a rather unfriendlyand distrustful member of the Demon Slayer Corps who prioritizes the elimination of demons over everything else. His cold and aloof nature is a result of his abusive upbringing that continues to mentally affect him. While carrying the scars of his past, Obanai has evolved into a skilled warrior who is respected by his peers.
The Serpent Hashira demonstrates the range of his combat skills during the Infinity Castle and Sunrise Countdown arcs, in which he helps his peers defeat the Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji. His experience and combat IQ make him a superior fighter to someone like Tanjiro, who still has a long way to go to become a Hashira.

9Kyojuro Rengoku
The Brave Warrior Who Fought Akaza Alone
Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengokuis known for his infectious drive, willpower, and determination, which has even impressed his adversaries in several instances. Despite facing many challenges in his early life, he mastered Flame Breathing all by himself after reading a three-volume book, and went on to become a Hashira.
“Life is a series of decisions. You never have unlimited options or unlimited time to think, but what you choose in that instant defines who you are.”

In his prestigious career, Rengoku defeated several dangerous adversaries, like the Lower-Rank Two Hairo and the Flute Demon. In the Mugen Train arc, he demonstrated extraordinary courage and resilience when he fought Upper-Rank Three Akaza alone. Although he ended up losing his life in that battle, Kyojuro’s sacrifice potentially saved the lives of Tanjiro and his friends.
8Sanemi Shinazugawa
The Ruthless Wind Hashira
When it comes to Hashiras,Sanemiis arguably the most ruthless fighter of the bunch. He attacks at a frightening pace and is the only Hashira other than Gyomei who has fought on equal ground against Kokushibo.
When he is pushed to his limits, the Wind Hashira can withstand terrible wounds and continue attacking in spite of sustaining nearly fatal injuries. His superhuman fighting prowess coupled with his incredible durability make him one of the most dangerous combatants in the Demon Slayer Corps.

7Muichiro Tokito
The Gifted Swordsman Who Became A Hashira In Just Two Months
In the Demon Slayer Corps, the Hashiras represent the pinnacle of swordsmanship and combat knowledge. Although most of them are extremely hardworking, every once in a while, a swordsman is born with such groundbreaking abilities that they challenge all the preconceived notions of their experienced peers. When it comes to pure natural talent, arguably no one comes close toMuichiro Tokito, the Mist Hashira.
“Remember that boiling anger. Even if I lose my memories, my body will remember that anger that will not leave me until I die. It’s why I trained so hard that I vomited blood to destroy demons. And more, to eradicate them.”

Although Tokito has worked extremely hard, just like his comrades, no one could earn the coveted title of a Hashira in just two months like him except Gyomei Himejima. Muichiro is so dexterous with a sword thathe not only fought Gyokko alone, but managed to kill the dangerous demon as well. Swordsmen like the Mist Hashira are a rare breed and he is definitely in a class above Tanjiro.
6Hantengu
The Upper-Rank Four Of The Twelve Kizuki
In the Swordsmith Village arc,the Upper-Rank FourHantengu, with the help of Gyokko, attacks the village that serves as the backbone of the Demon Slayer Corps. At the time, Genya, Tanjiro, Nezuko, Muichiro, and Mitsuri were present in the region. While the Mist Hashira Tokito single-handedly fought Gyokko, his friends were tasked with the responsibility of taking down Hantengu.
Despite having a clear advantage, Tanjiro, Genya, Nezuko, and Mitsuri struggled to defeat the Upper-Rank Four of the Twelve Kizuki. It is evident from the battle that Tanjiro alone would be unlikely to kill Hantengu.

5Gyomei Himejima
The Stone Hashira Is The Strongest Demon Slayer Alive
Gyomei Himejimais a brave combatantof the Demon Slayer Corps, one who is known for his intimidating presence and superhuman powers. Despite living a very rough life, he somehow retained his kindness and served others selflessly. Himejima has an uncompromising attitude towards demons, and he is dedicated to the goal of eradicating them for good.
Apart from his incredible personal achievements as ademon slayer, Gyomei has also trainedShinobu, Kanae, and Genya. The Stone Hashira is one of the most gifted fighters to ever have existed, and is currently the strongest demon slayer alive.

4Akaza
A Dangerous Demon Unlikely To Be Killed By A Lone Demon Slayer
As the holder of theUpper-Rank Three in the Twelve Kizuki,Akazais one of the most dangerous demons alive. He possesses frightening strength and an impressive combat IQ that makes him a formidable enemy.
“You misunderstand, Tanjiro. I only despise the weak. I only spit on weaklings. Yes. Weaklings make me sick. It is the law of nature that they are weeded out.”

Akaza not only killed Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, but also managed to escape. Going up against him single-handedly will prove to be a suicidal mission for Tanjiro, as he is highly unlikely to defeat the demon.
3Doma
The Manipulative Upper-Rank Two Of The Twelve Kizuki
Demons in the Twelve Kizuki are willing to resort to any tricks to ensure that they can have a continuous supply of humans to eat. In that regard,Doma’smanipulative techniques stand out, as he went as far as establishing a cult named the Eternal Paradise Faith, which revolved around worshiping him. While posing as his followers' savior, Doma used his influence to devour the people who trusted him.
Doma is relentless in his pursuit of power, and is willing to go to any lengths for it. His ruthlessness is the primary reason for his success as a demon. When it comes to combat, very few demon slayers could survive his unrestrained attacks. Even the Hashiras can’t defeat him on their own, so Tanjiro is unlikely to be able to do so either.

2Kokushibo
Muzan Kibutsuji’s Trusted Ally
Kokushibois the brother of Yoriichi, the strongest Demon Slayer that has ever existed. Since his sibling was a naturally gifted swordsman, he never managed to catch up to his incredible dexterity with a sword. His enviousness and jealousy of Yoriichi eventually convinced him to become a demon, as he was desperate to become stronger than his brother.
In the following centuries,Kokushibo became immensely powerfuland earned the trust of the Demon King. His breathing techniques coupled with demonic powers make him a dangerous combatant, one who is not going to be defeated by anyone other than Muzan in a direct confrontation.
