Destiny 2’s Lightfall expansion was released to mixed reviews and community feedback for a plethora of reasons that range from the campaign’s story being too shallow to game-breaking bugs and issues with specific features. With a new expansion typically comes a higherPower Level cap inDestiny 2, and Lightfall is no exception, this time taking Guardians up to 1,810. Since grinding Power Level upgrades can be a bit of a painful activity in the game due to how drops behave when at the soft cap, players often discover new farming methods that allow their characters to get stronger while also obtaining new loot.

Such is the case with the Lightfall expansion as well, as players figured out a way to get the most out of their in-game time. This involves completing a Terminal Overload activity, hopping on a sparrow to travel to a new zone, and then returning to the same zone to open one of the Terminal Overload chests again. Depending on how fast, the players are on their sparrow, this can be done roughly two times and has been found to be a fast way to farm Nimbus Reputation and Neomuna weapons.

This can be harmful to otherDestiny 2playerson its own because loading and reloading the instance “occupies” the zone and prevents those that want to complete Terminal Overload in the following instance from having any teammates spawn in. Eventually, the Terminal Overload zone for that day will populate but players might notice the starting rounds are particularly empty despite Lightfall being brand new and lots of players working to complete the activity.

How Destiny 2 Players Are Farming Endless Deepsight Neomuna Weapons and Reputation

The Terminal Overload activity is particularly valuable because it rewards a lot of loot anytime that a key is used. The event rotates between the three Neomonua zones each day and there is a different Neomuna weapon available depending on the zone. So, manyDestinyplayers want to complete Terminal Overload legit and then jump into a new one to farm a specific daily weapon, like the new Strand SMG Synchronic Roulette.

The event can take a while to be completed in casual groups, however, as it entails three phases with several waves each, culminating in boss encounters against Cabal or Vex forces. Still, the rewards are great to reap because players can often find new weapons they don’t have, and on top of that, or Deepsight patterns forDestiny 2’s crafting system.

In fact, this farming method has become all the rage due to how easy it can be to get multiple Deepsight patterns, and players can also cheese this to obtain even more loot from a single chest. The sparrowing method is harmful but so is simply loading into the zone over and over again when the Terminal Overload rotates to Liming Harbor.

Some players will simply reload the zone until they find a Terminal Overload that is closer to completion but when they do they are blocking players in earlier waves from finding teammates quicker. Not to mention, players can also immediately hop onto their Sparrow and race away to another area inDestiny 2’s Neomuna citywhen the Terminal Overload event concludes.

Upon reaching a new area, the chests in the former instance remain there, but if players get there once again, they will be able to collect the loot one more time. If players are on the fastest sparrow in the game, this can be repeated up to three times, which is usually how long it takes for the chests to disappear, but it can yield plenty of new items and useful gear to infuse in order to increase one’s Power Level. While this is a smart application ofDestiny 2’s issues with Lightfall’s launch, it can be quite detrimental to other players who struggle to find people to complete the event with.

Furthermore, it’s very likely that Bungie will end up patching this out in order to prevent players from getting easy loot over and over, which is often an issue when newDestiny 2expansions first launch. There was a slightly similar farming method in Witch Queen that did roughly the same thing, but it didn’t affect other players. Still, Bungie patched it quickly to prevent continued exploitation.

This farming method can also create a sort of imbalance between those who use it and those who don’t since the former will most likely be at level 30+ with Nimbus reputation very early. Ultimately, though, it’s the way this method impacts one ofDestiny 2’s new PvE experiences in Lightfall that makes it a problem. Under normal circumstances, farming like this would be harmless.

Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
