Indie publisher Devolver Digital has revealed the release date for upcoming ‘reverse’ city builderTerra Nil. Unlike other city builders, the focus inDevolver Digital’sTerra Nilis to bring life back to the dying world by means of purifying soil, cleaning oceans, planting trees, and reintroducing wildlife.
Independent South African video game developer Free Lives is more well-known for seemingly hyper-macho titles such asExpendabros,Gorn, andBroforcewhich has been teased for a massive updateyears after release. Because these titles tend to have a focus on muscles, machismo, and violence, the upcomingTerra Nilmay seem to come out of left field.

Lead artist Jonathan Hau-Yoon has previously explained the focus behindTerra Niland the relation to nature, having said that rebuilding nature not only makes for a better world but also ‘restores something within us too.’ Previously slated for an early 2023 release, Devolver Digital has released the latest trailer including the release date of March 28. The trailer also shows some meditative gameplay of the lands being reinvigorated by breaking down structures and reintroducing plant life.
The game is set to come to Steam, GOG, and is also being distributed by Netflix. The streaming service has recently been branching out into the video game world. For many, the mention of games on Netflix will only bring forth Netflix’s first foray into video games; theBlack Mirrorgame experienceBandersnatchfrom 2018. Netflix has since been distributing games to Android and iOS, which first launched for Netflix users in Poland in August 2021, offering premium mobile games based onStranger ThingsincludingStranger Things 3: The Game.
