Dungeons play a big part in the gameplay loop forDiablo 4, providing a constant source of gold and experience for players to explore, though not all dungeons are equal and a new tier list outlines which are the best sources to farm. The list specifically focuses on the game’sNightmare Dungeons, one of its marquee endgame activities necessary for anyone trying to hit the current level caps and earn top-tier loot to bring into battle against the best bosses. Out of the roughly 150 dungeons available at launch, 22 can become Nightmare Dungeons but, as the list shows, some are more worth repeating than others.

Diablo 4is the latest entry in Blizzard’s long-running action RPG series, once again transporting players to the world of Sanctuary to explore and battle the various dangers born of the Burning Hells and High Heavens. The game picks up 50 years after the events ofDiablo 3and sees the return of Lilith, one of Sanctuary’s creators alongside the angel Inarius, as she seeks to end the eternal conflict between demons and angels. Players take on the role of The Wanderer, a warrior who finds themselves swept up in Lilith’s plans and sets out to stop her before she conquers the Burning Hells and turns her full focus toward retaking Sanctuary.

The various dungeons scattered across the regions of Sanctuary serve a key role in helping players prepare for theirconfrontation with Lilithdue to the amount of XP, gold, and loot available to earn and build their character into the ultimate warrior. More endgame-minded players, though, will likely find themselves running Nightmare Dungeons to reach those level caps before the start of theDiablo 4’s first season of new content. Even among these higher-difficulty dungeons, some are better XP sources than others and a tier list on theDiablosubreddit by user ThatJumpyJumpS outlines which ones demand players' attention.

As the list shows, a majority of the dungeons withNightmare Sigilsavailable to consume are good to great farming sources starting with the S-Tier dungeons of Blind Burrows, Aldurwood, Guulrahn Canals, Champion’s Demise, Earthen Wound, and Onyx. Most of the dungeons fall under the A-Tier and include Crusader’s Catherdral, Cultist’s Refuge, Abandoned Mineworks, Maulwood, Kor Dragan Barracks, Maugan’s Works, Sunken Ruins, and Raethwind Wilds. B-Tier is considered the “decent” farming sources with Lost Archieves, Whispering Plains, Zenith, Serpent’s Lair, and Demon’s Wake, and finally the F-Tier dungeons players should avoid being Dark Ravine, Prison of Caldeum, and Black Asylum.

JumpyJump notes in their list more dungeons will be added to the list with every subsequent season, with Season One set to begin around mid-July. The importance of Nightmare Dungeons, specifically, will be put into focus due toDiablo 4requiring players to start a new characterevery season.

Diablo 4is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
