Earlier this week,Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotfans got some surprising news regarding the upcoming DLC. A previous leak of Beerus' tree suggested that the DLC would be adapting the fullGods of the Universe story arc, but as it turns out, the DLC is really watering down these events, blurring the line between the Z saga and Super saga’s adaptations of events. Simply put, instead of a story, players will be able to “train” with Whis in order to unlock Super Saiyan God, fight Beerus in a manner not unlike Bonyu, and unlock new skills.
It seems to be that straightforward, but at the same time, it can be confusing completed even before the main story. It’s unlikely that Super Saiyan God could be used against Frieza the first time around, but the very fact that it is unlocked beforehand is strange. And part of that is because this DLC is introducing Super Saiyan God Goku and Super Saiyan God Vegeta as their own independent characters inDragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

Surely, this is surprising given that many expected SSG and SSB to just benew transformations for Gokuand Vegeta, but the nature of the characters aside, a leak from V Jump Magazine shows players these new characters (viaDragon Ballreporter @DragonBallHype). Each character looks as one might expect, and the images in the background give fans an idea on how these two characters will play inDBZ: Kakarot.
Notably, if players look closely to the image near Goku’s torso, it’s clear that it’s training menu. These appear throughout the game in different forms, but here it’s clear that it’s Whis. This suggests that Whis being watered down into a trainer and Beerus serving as a type of Boss fight are legitimate, but hopefully, it’s not the extent of theDBZ: KakarotDLC. After all, a prior leak showcased aplayable Whis and Beerustoo, which goes unconfirmed at this time.
With that in mind, it’s worth mentioning that this is only the first DLC entry onDragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s Season Pass. More information is said to drop on March 21, so it’s possible that the rest of the season pass and details concerning this DLC are confirmed sooner rather than later.
