The most recent Easter egg thatDying Light 2players have found is a reference toCyberpunk 2077. The Easter egg is a weapon called the Cyberhands 2177, which bears a striking resemblance to the Mantis Blades fromCyberpunk 2077.The blueprint for the weapon is given to Aiden by an NPC called “Liquidator” who mentions that he has been here and there and that he has left something for Aiden.
Dying Light 2’s reference toCyberpunk 2077was not exceptionally surprising, as the originalDying Lightreferenced many different games and popular media. The original game even had aSuper MarioEaster egg that allowed players to play World 1-1 in first person with zombies as Goombas. However, it seems as though both companies are keen on uplifting one another, asCD Projekt Red congratulated Techland on the launch ofDying Light 2via Twitter.
Dying Light 2even includes aResident EvilEaster egg, which is far easier to find as the reference comes during the main quest called “Broadcast”. During the quest, Aiden comes across a Peacemaker called Leon, which is the name of one of the main protagonists in theResident Evilseries. Leon then sends Aiden to look for his partner Chris. When Aiden finds Chris he has already become infected, leaving Aiden no choice but to kill him. After killing him Aiden can recover his dog tags, which state that his name is Chris Redfield, who is another character from theResident Evilfranchise.
Dying Light 2also recently received its 1.04 update. The update was said to fix many of the lingering issues that the game had such as various crashes, AI corpse replication in co-op multiplayer, issues causing players to not be able to sell valuables to vendors, and improved support for mouse rebinding.
