Like other online communities,Elden Ringfans have fallen in love with the concept of refacing real people onto others. Unsurprisingly, their person of choice is Hidetaka Miyazaki, director ofElden Ringand a majority of the other FromSoftware projects.
Thus far,Elden Ringfans have placed the beloved video game developer on the face ofthe T-800 fromTerminator. While seeing Miyazaki as the powerful machine is plenty of fun and will surely get a laugh out of several fans, it is far from the only deep fake that has appeared on theElden Ringsubreddit. For example, Redditor ELDENRING_fan has refaced Miyazaki into the world ofKung Fury, where he can be seen walking away from explosions and riding on the hood of a car. Shots of Miyazaki firing a gun and being electrocuted can also be seen, giving fans access to a good variety of moments from a single clip.

Seemingly thenewElden Ringmemeof choice, another edited clip courtesy of ELDENRING_fan sees Miyazaki becoming none other than Hannibal Lector. Snippets of the best scenes fromSilence of the Lambsplay, and if it is both chilling and hilarious to see the developer rocking the mannerisms of Anthony Hopkins’ take on the character. This feeling only becomes more prevalent once Miyazaki is seen biting a man’s face, as the visual is hard to forget. Titled “you’re able to’t capture Miyazaki,” the reface is one of the better deep fakes on the subreddit thus far.
There are still more to see, however, with one post from ELDENRING_fan seeing the video game icon becoming an action movie icon. Taking on the role of Jackie Chan, Miyazaki is seen wielding nunchucks, throwing knives, and scolding criminals. Some kicks can be seen as well, and the posts title implies that this is how Miyazaki is going to deal with those behind therecentElden Ringleaks. A hilarious reface in its own right, this theme of theElden Ringdirector seeking revenge continues in the next post.
While thenext twoJohn Wickfilmswill see Keanu Reeves returning to the iconic role, one deep fake makes it look like Miyazaki would make for a fine stand-in if Reeves ever grew bored of the character. Coming courtesy of Reddit user HopeForRoseNerf, the assassin can be seen doing his thing, with commenters dubbing the creation “Elden Wick.” With more refaces to see on the subreddit, including Miyazaki being thrust into the TV seriesVikings, the community is clearly loving this current meme.
Whether it be throughbeatingSekirobosses daily, debating over FromSoftware tier lists, or refacing Miyazaki, theElden Ringfan base is truly doing all that it can to keep itself entertained. Hopefully, an official reveal happens soon, as the subreddit has been extremely patient through the many months of silence.
