A Reddit user named AllanIsumi finally beat Malenia after dying to her 363 times, and they have shared two sheets of paper featuring a symbol marking their failed attempts. It’s a square with a diagonal line and each line represents one death. As seen by the last symbol, AllanIsumi was halfway through completing it butfinally managed to defeat Maleniaafter 363 attempts. Unfortunately, AllanIsumi has not uploaded a video of the kill that usually accompanies similar posts.

For this battle, AllanIsumi’s level was around 115, and they used dual halberds. AllanIsumi claims to have gotten close to breaking the controller numerous times but decided against it. They also mention that they didn’t want to use any summons in this fight.Summons inElden Ringcan be extremely helpful in dealing damage and taking aggro away from the player, but some users prefer not to use them and want to defeat bosses on their own.

A few lines, particularly the ones right after 200 deaths, seem to have been drawn in anger. Other users point to this fact and how the lines show AllanIsumi’s emotions as they went through this ordeal. Some players remark on line 215, which is longer and bolder than the rest, and AllanIsumi explains that they died tothe Waterfowl Dance skill movein a single hit.

Waterfowl Dance is the unique skill of the Hand of Malenia weapon. It hits opponents with a series of attacks and is generally considered to be difficult to avoid. Players wanting to use this attack can obtain the Hand of Malenia katana afterexchanging the Remembrance of the Rot Goddessat the Roundtable Hold. Alternatively, gamers can opt to go for the Scarlet Aeonia Incantation, or even duplicate the remembrance at a Walking Mausoleum to get both.
