Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopesis slated to be one of Nintendo’s most surprising yet anticipated releases of 2022. This game is the follow-up to 2017’sFire Emblem Warriors, and it will take place in an alternate continuity ofFire Emblem: Three Houses. The biggestdivergence from the original continuity ofThree Houses, however is that players will not be playing as Byleth. Instead of becoming a professor at Garreg Mach, they remain a mercenary.
With Byleth no longer being a professor at the monastery, players will be controllinga brand-new character known as Shez. They were defeated by Byleth at the beginning of the game, swearing revenge against “The Ashen Demon” as the game christens them. This loss against Byleth leads to Shez meeting the other three House Leaders, and giving them a choice to join either the Adrestian Empire, the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, or the Leicester Alliance.

As the previous trailers forThree Hopesfocused on the Holy Kingdom of Faerghusand the Adrestian Empire, this latest trailer is about the Leicester Alliance lead by Claude von Riegan. Much like the other trailers, it starts off with the banner and its house leader, along with their primary gameplay style. Claude is an airborne fighter, riding atop of a Wyvern where he can shoot down his foes. The trailer confirms that all of his classmates will be playable too, along with their brand-new timeskip designs.
Following Claude is the fan-favorite Hilda, where she utilizes an axe as her weapon, and can be seen wielding her Heroic Relic, Freikugel. Raphael will bethe Leicester Alliance’s brawler character, where he can use his fists to punch enemies or generate AOE attacks. Lysithea carries over her deadly magic attacks fromThree Houses, where she can utilize light, ice, and dark magic to attack her foes.
Lorenz is back as a horseback riding fighter inFire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. He utilizes a lance in battle, where he can generate tornadoes within certain combo strings, as well as a rose for one of his specials. Ignatz has a unique paint element to his attacks, which carries over his love for art from the originalThree Houses. Marianne can shower her enemies in light and ice attacks, but can also summon her horse Dorte to charge into her enemies as her special move. The final character shown is Leonie, where much like Lorenz, is a horseback fighter though it seems she emphasizes speed over power.
