Summary

Fortnite’s Save the World game mode has reached an all-time active player peak, making fans question if Epic Games will finally invest in it. WhenFortniteBattle Royale came out, it took the world by storm. Nearly everyone in the gaming community heard about it given how quickly it became popular worldwide. This was an unexpected turn of events for Epic Games; when it was first released, theBattle Royale modewas supposed to be just an addition toFortnite, while Save the World was supposed to be the main game mode.

There’s no denying that Save the World didn’t grow on gamers all that much, and it didn’t have that many active players, especially compared to the Battle Royale. As time went by, Epic Games started to shift most of its focus over toFortniteBattle Royale, which only made the problem worse. Avid Save the World players quickly felt abandoned by Epic and disappointed that it put such little effort into improving the game. Founders (those who purchased this game in early access) only became more enraged when it was announced that they wouldno longer be able to earn V-Bucks with Save the World.

FortniteSave the World peaked on November 12, and it had over 50,000 active players at once. This is likely related to the number of players returning toFortnitefor Season OG, as theBattle Royale game mode broke its player count recordthe previous week as well. There’s no doubt this season evoked the interest of thousands of gamers, both active and returning players. It seems that while many enjoyed the Battle Royale, others also decided to give Save the World another try.

Fans of the classic PvE game mode were happy to see this spike, and it gave them hope that Epic Games would once again give Save the World and its players the required attention -Fortniteisn’t just the Battle Royale and Creative modes after all.

Gamers interested in trying out this game mode will actually have to pay for it. Save the World was supposed to go free onceFortniteleft early access, but just like whatrecently happened withDisney Dreamlight Valley, these plans were scrapped, and only those who purchase it will be able to play it. Right now, it’s available through the Epic Games Store or their preferred platform for $18,49 as part of the Untask’d Courier Pack.
