Fortniterecently introducedMetal Gear’s Solid Snakecharacter as an unlockable skin for those who purchased this season’s battle pass. The skin was made available on January 23rd and can be unlocked in exchange for completing a set of challenges. As part of the skin’s reward track, players can also unlock an Old Snake style variant, glider, back bling, harvesting tool, and more, all of which are themed around Solid Snake and are available until March 8th. While this was already exciting news forMetal Gearfans who enjoyFortnite, fans just got even more exciting news regarding another popular character.
FortnitedataminerHypex found images that showMetal Gear’s Raidenalong with a themed weapon wrap and what appears to be a back bling and harvesting tool. The skin shows Raiden in black and silver tactical garb and comes in two styles. One style shows Raiden without a mask on, while the other shows Raiden in hisMetal Gear Solid 2mask, which sports a menacing look. It’s not yet known if the Raiden skin will be added toFortnite’s Item shop or added as an additional skin for battle pass owners to unlock. It’s also not yet known when the Raiden skin will be made available, but this will likely occur sometime before Chapter 5: Season 1’s conclusion on March 8th.
Raiden is a secondary protagonist within theMetal Gearfranchise who starred as the main character inMetal Gear Solid 2andMetal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Although his initial introduction was somewhat controversial, Raiden has since become a fan-favorite character amongMetal Gearfans.
Metal Gearfans have enjoyed other compelling news recently, likerumors that the originalMetal Gear Solidis being remadeby Konami. According to leaks, this remake will be of a similar scale to theMetal Gear Solid 3remake, which is confirmed to feature a graphics and audio overhaul.
TheMetal Gear Solid 3remake, which istitledMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, previously revealed its gameplay which showcased the game’s major graphical upgrades. It’s slated for a release sometime in 2024, after which Konami will focus on the originalMetal Gear Solid’s remake, if leaks are to be believed.
