It’s Christmas, and all around the world families are gathering to spend time together. Whether listeners are traveling, spending time with friends and family, or just spending a nice holiday at home, Game Rant Arcade would like to extend a very merry Christmas wish and happy holidays to all. But there’s still plenty of video game discussion to be had.

First and foremost,Ubisoft is facing an exodus of employees. The company has had issues retaining key staff, losing high-profile developers from both theFar Cry 6andAssassin’s Creed Valhallateams. However, even general developers are departing from the company, with some claiming that it’s impacting development speed. The departures are mostly in response to Ubisoft’s lackluster response to recent controversies.

Tencent recently acquired Turtle Rock Studios, the developer behindBack 4 BloodandLeft 4 Dead. The purchase continues a trend of Tencent gobbling up talented studios, with the massive company now having its hands in a large number of studios and publishers. It’s something that has worried some gamers, though it does provide new opportunities for Turtle Rock Studios.

In other news,Battlefield 2042’s first season isn’t expected until March, with a 12-week set of missions releasing ahead of time. It’s a long time to wait for a substantial content update in a game that has suffered from matchmaking issues due to a low player count just weeks after launch. Hopefully, it will bring the changes that fans are looking for, at the very least.

Star Wars Eclipsedetails have also leaked, painting an interesting picture. The same leaker that revealed a newStar Warsgame was coming ahead of The Game Awards stated thatEclipsewill be open world and have some sort of competitive multiplayer element. It’s an interesting departure for Quantic Dream if it turns out to be true.
