There’s something to be said for how muchMonster Hunter Wildshas room to innovate, especially since it already looks to be bringing some interesting new ideas to the game. In that sense, creative new monsters will be a necessity, andPokemonGeneration 4 could provide some ideas.
Generation 4 ofPokemonwas particularly notable for the amount of new evolutions given to Pokemon from older generations. While not the only generation to do so, the sheer amount of cross-generation evolutions was impressive.Returning monsters inMonster Hunter Wildsmay not be able to benefit from those same evolution gimmicks due to the series' nature. However, that shouldn’t stopMonster Hunter’s next generation of monsters from being impressive in their own right.

Vespiquen Could Be Monster Hunter Wilds' Queen of Insects
Aggressive bee-like insects like Vespoids and Bnahabras appeared in previousMonster Huntertitles, but something likePokemon’s Vespiquen could take them to the next level. Vespiquen is essentially a living beehive that can use its colony both offensively and defensively. Such a monster inMonster Hunter Wildswould make for a fast-paced and frenetic fight. While theinsect glaive inMonster Hunterlets players control a single bug, a Vespiquen-like monster could control an army of swarming insects.
Ambipom Could Inspire One of Monster Hunter Wilds' Strangest Battles
The evolved for of Aipom, Ambipom is one ofPokemon’s stranger creatures. In spite of that, its twin tails with hands of their own could inspire an unusual monster gimmick. Much like how Ambipom uses its tails for virtually everything, aMonster Huntermonster based on it could have an unimpressive-looking body, but an astonishing amount of strength and utility coming from its tails, using them to punch, slap, and throw the player. It would make for a weird monster, but certainly a memorable one.
Yanmega Could Give Monster Hunter Fans a Prehistoric Scare
There are a lot ofdragons inMonster Huntergames, and a dragonfly might fit in as well. Yanmega proved that dragonflies could be intimidating, from its fierce looks to its ability to launch sonic attacks from its wings. It could also take a hint from Yanmega’s naturally high speed and Speed Boost ability, enabling it to either escape danger or dash towards the hunter at high speeds as an attack.Monster Hunter Wildscan look to Yanma to make a dragonfly into a fearsome beast.
Garchomp is infamous amongPokemonfans for the same game-breaking power that would make it an excellent fit forMonster Hunter. While it’s little surprise thatGarchomp made it intoPokemon UNITE, he could also be a perfect model forMonster Hunter’s next intimidating beast. A shark-like dragon who can move at high speeds and strike with violent precision, it could drop into almost any biome and immediately establish itself as a menace. Garchomp is so scary, it could probably drop intoMonster Hunter Wildsitself and be tough to beat.
Drapion Could Create Monster Hunter’s Most Intimidating Arachnid
When it comes to purely intimidating Pokemon, Drapion is hard to overlook. The hulking scorpion can dish out serious punishment with its twin claws and claw-like tail, and has more speed that it looks like it should. Even discounting how a new scorpion-themed suit of armor could easily be amongMonster Hunter’s best armor sets, a massive battle-ready scorpion would make for an intense fight no matter what the scenario. A big, bad scorpion like Drapion could helpMonster Hunter Wildslive up to its name.
