Thorny Cyst Location
To locate Thorny Cyst, players are initially advised to head to Mont Esus East. They can do this by diving beneath the waterfall in the area. Alternatively, players can use an underwater teleport point to directly reach the vicinity and then proceed southwest toward the waterfall area. As they approach, they will notice a sizable tunnel entrance. Following this tunnel will eventually lead them to a blocked passage, guarded by a new type of enemies that attack when nearby known as mini meanies. Before reaching this point, players can also collect a Hydroculus and an Exquisite Chest within the tunnel.
Upon arriving at the blocked path, players should acquire the nearby Xenochromatic Jellyfish’s abilities. Utilizing these abilities will allow them to simultaneously eliminate both mini meanies on the wall, thereby unlocking access to the Thorny Cyst boss area.
How to Defeat Thorny Cyst
Upon arrival in the area, players will immediately spot a massive cyst-like structure with sprawling branches. Notably, within this area, players' health will gradually diminish over time, necessitating their careful attention to it. Hence, expediting the battle becomes crucial for enhancing survivability. Luckily, defeating Thorny Cyst follows a relatively straightforward process, as players will predominantly rely on the Xenochromatic Jellyfish’s ability to inflict damage. However, it’s worth noting that players cannot directly harm Thorny Cyst until they have eliminated a specific quantity of its restraining roots.
Thorny Cyst’s HP bar remains slightly grayed out until it becomes vulnerable to damage. Players simply need to locate the glowing roots and target them with the Xenochromatic Jellyfish’s abilities. During the initial phase, these roots remain stationary. However, in the later phase of the battle, they begin to move, requiring players to act swiftly to eliminate them as quickly as possible before they swap positions. Furthermore, through these phases, Thorny Cyst will alsosummon Fontemer Aberrants. It is advisable for players to prioritize Thorny Cyst, instead of defeating these summoned enemies especially if the Aberrants are not close enough to Cyst or the glowing roots, as this will slow down the killing time for Thorny Cyst itself. Rewards For Defeating Thorny Cyst
After successfully defeating Thorny Cyst, players will be rewarded with three main prizes. The primary reward is a Luxurious Chest, which holds valuable items and resources. Additionally, players will earn the “Break The Time Zone” achievement in the Wonders of the World category, which grants an extra 5 Primogems.
Moreover, players will alsoreceive a Mysterious Oreas part of their rewards. This resource is essential for accessing specific hidden exploration areas within the game, and players will need to collect a total of 7 of these items to progress further in these areas.
