A Reddit user by the name of Salad_Pizza remade Kratos' original character design inGod of War (2018)and did a side by side comparison. It’s weird how much difference his appearance inGod of War (2018)makes with the addition of his unruly beard, compared to his much shorter, goatee-style facial hair featured throughout the originalGod of Wartrilogy.

This side-by-side comparison definitely highlights how different Kratos' character design is in the newerGod of Warcompared to how he originally looked. Perhaps the inclusion of the longer facial hair is meant to reflect Kratos' evolution from being a ruthless warrior, to a much older and wiser individual. Then again, the inclusion of the beard could also be indicative of the Norse influence thatGod of War (2018)possesses, givingKratos more of a Viking look.

In any case, it will be interesting to see if his character design changes onceGod of War Ragnarokis finally revealed in a more official capacity. If the epilogue scene at the ending ofGod of War (2018)is any indication, it’s likely that the game will take place some years after the events ofGod of War (2018)and thus, it’s possible that both Kratos and Atreus will look different in some capacity.

Although, right now there’s not really any new information to go on in terms ofGod of War Ragnarok. The existence of the game has been public knowledge for nearly a year now and yet, there hasn’t been any subsequent information revealed. Recently,a new trailer forGod of War Ragnarokwas leakedfor next month, but there’s no way to know for certain, until the trailer actually releases.

God of War (2018)is available now exclusively for PS4.
