Grand Theft Auto 5first launched in 2013, and since then Rockstar Games has kept the game alive through regular content updates for itsGTA Onlinemultiplayer mode and ports to newer platforms. In 2014, Rockstar Games broughtGrand Theft Auto 5to PS4 and Xbox One consoles, and the game released for PC in 2015. Just recently, Rockstar Games released a new version ofGrand Theft Auto 5for PS5 and Xbox Series X, bringing the acclaimed open world game to the latest consoles.

Thenext-gen versions ofGrand Theft Auto 5have been out for over a month at this point, and while some fans have been disappointed about the lack of new gameplay features, others are enjoying the performance enhancements and stability improvements. It seems Rockstar Games isn’t done withGrand Theft Auto 5on PS5 and Xbox Series X, however, as it has now released a new update that includes some changes specific to the new versions of the game.

Grand Theft Auto 5update 1.56 is available to download now across PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, though those on PS5 and Xbox Series X will find it especially interesting. After downloading the latest update,Grand Theft Auto 5playerswill find an option to turn off motion blur, and they’ll also notice that transitioning from story mode toGTA Onlineis now quicker.

Besides these improvements, update 1.56 addresses a variety of bugs and other lingering issues with the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions ofGrand Theft Auto 5. There are some platform-specific improvements as well, with Rockstar fixing issues withPS5 adaptive trigger feedbackand the Xbox’s Quick Resume feature. When it comes to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game, update 1.56 mainly squashes bugs and improves stability.

It will be interesting to see if there are more substantial updates forGrand Theft Auto 5down the line. There are rumors that there could be a bigGrand Theft Auto Onlineexpansion on the horizon that would include Liberty City, but nothing official to that effect has been announced at the time of this writing. Rockstar Games has not confirmed plans for any futureGTA Onlineexpansions, so fans will have to make due with what’s in the game right now.

With thelong-awaitedGrand Theft Auto 6on the horizon, one would think that the updates forGrand Theft Auto 5will slow down, but that remains to be seen.
