Hawkeyeactor Jeremy Renner has said that he will not be watchingAvengers: Endgameever again. This news came out shortly after the debut of Hawkeye’s solo series on Disney Plus, which introduces the Young Avenger Kate Bishop (played by Hailee Steinfield).
WhileHawkeyesat out ofAvengers: Infinity War, the character was seen in the opening scene ofEndgame, which depicted the moment his family wassnapped out of existence by Thanos. While the sequence set the stage for Hawkeye to have an emotional character arc inEndgame, it appears Renner has no interest in revisiting that journey.

During an interview with BBC Radio to promotetheHawkeyetelevision series, Renner went on to say that he will never watchAvengers: Endgameever again after watching the film for the first time during its release with the cast and crew. The movie was evidently an emotional experience for both fans and the stars of the epic film. “I saw it at the premiere, but that was just something to celebrate for all of us,” Jeremy Renner tells BBC radio. “We were laughing and weeping and it was a lot to do. I’ll never watch that again… it was a difficult experience. We were all just a sobbing mess and we’re laughing. It’s amazing, we were like audience members and that was awesome to experience. I mean, that was a lovely, beautiful experience to share.”
Avengers: Endgamemarked the end of roughly ten years worth of storytelling. However, the latestAvengersfilmalso started setting the stage for the next phase of the MCU. The fourth phase was propelled by the Disney Plus Marvel shows and continued with the few movie releases that came out this year, which will conclude with the upcomingSpider-Man: No Way Homein December.
It’s good to know that the cast ofAvengers: Endgamewas also emotionally impacted by the film, just like the fans were. Often times the actors themselves aren’t necessarily comic book fans. Some actors admit that despite being in these films, they don’t necessarily go to watch them (ex.Batmanstar Michael Keaton), which is perfectly fine because not everything is for everybody. However, in the event that the cast does feel the same passion as the fans do, it’s always nice to see because it makes viewers feel some sort of connection to those who bring these characters to life.
Hawkeyehas released two episodes so far and fans are speculating to see if the long-awaited rumors are true about certain returning characters.Daredevil and Kingpin have both been rumoredto be making a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and there is also speculation about these characters showing up inSpider-Man: No Way Homeas well.It would be cool for fans to see Daredevil and Kingpin return in bothHawkeyeandSpider-Man: No Way Home, especially sinceHawkeyewill still be around just before the wall-crawler’s next film hit theaters.
Hawkeyeis available now on Disney Plus.
