Game Rant was given the opportunity to reveal a brand new Legendary Mage minion coming inHearthstone’supcomingFestival of Legendsset. This powerful newHearthstonecard may come at a high cost, but its show-stopping effect is sure to break down the strongest of opponents.
DJ Manastorm is the new Legendary Musician minion being added to the Mage class inFestival of Legends. At 10 mana, this version of Millhouse Manastorm can’t be easily played until late into the game. With 8 Attack and Health, DJ Manastorm is a formidable minion in his own right–but his potent Battlecry ability is what truly steals the show.

When aHearthstoneMage playerdrops this new minion, DJ Manastorm drops the mana-cheating beat. All spells in the player’s hand are reduced to 0 mana, allowing them to play their most expensive one for free. After each of these spells is played, the mana cost of the other affected spells is increased by 1. This allows clever mages to cheat out several high-cost spells for cheap, but with diminishing returns after each one.
When DJ Manastorm is played, a groovy beat plays alongside multicolor flashing lights and bright arcane sigils. After he turns theHearthstonebattlegroundinto a dance floor, the spells in a player’s hand change to have a special arcane glow around the mana crystal cost. This ensures players can easily tell which cards were affected by DJ Manastorm in case they draw more spells before playing them all.
HearthstoneandWarcraftfans will recognize Millhouse Manastorm for his many appearances across the franchise.Manastorm appears in severalWorld of Warcraftdungeons, sometimes alongside his disgruntled wife, Millificent. InHearthstone, Manastorm was a neutral Legendary minion from the game’s original set of cards–though his Battlecry helped the opponent play spells for free instead. He appeared in several other places in the game, including the tutorial, where he warned players to watch out when he got to 10 mana. It may have taken nearly 10 years, players now finally know what happens when he does.
