When players begin playingHogwarts Legacy, their gear inventory is initially limited to only 20 slots. However, completing Merlin Trials can unlock additional inventory slots that are essential for smooth gameplay without frequent backtracking. These trials consist of various puzzles that primarily require players to have a good understanding of their surroundings.
Each region inHogwarts Legacycontains numerous Trials that only appear on the map when players pass by them. Therefore, for players searching for Merlin Trials, taking a ride and exploring the area will eventually reveal a Trial.

All North Ford Bog Merlin Trials In Hogwarts Legacy
There are four Merlin Trials inNorth Ford Bog inHogwarts Legacy. Having this low number of Trials isn’t common since the other regions may hold up to 16 Merlin Trials.
The four Merlin Trials are:
Merlin Trial #1 - Stone Pillar Puzzle
The first Merlin Trial in North Ford Bog is situated to the east of the Floo Flame that shares the same name as the region. After castingRevelio, players can identify five stone pillars in the northeast area, withthree of them concealed behind leaves.
To clear the way, castConfringoto burn the leaves and then use it again to destroy the stone pillars. Alternatively, players can castBombardatwice on the same target to destroy the object.
Merlin Trial #2 - Platform Bridge Puzzle
Players can find another Merlin Trial in North Ford Bog, located southeast of the Pitt-Upon-Ford Waypoint. Next to the Merlin Altar, there are several staircases with platforms that light up when using Revelio, indicating their connection to the puzzle.
To complete thisMerlin Trial inHogwarts Legacy, players need to jump from one platform to another without touching the floor or falling.
Merlin Trial #3 - Stone Sphere Puzzle
Stone sphere puzzles are one of the most common types of puzzles players will come across when tackling Merlin Trials inHogwarts Legacy. In North Ford Bog, the stone sphere puzzle can be found to the west of East North Ford Bog Floo Flame.
In this Merlin Trial, the pit is closer to the players than the stone sphere. However, the pit is covered with leaves, and players need tocast fire spells likeConfringoorIncendioto clear it. Afterward, position the character behind the stone sphere and castDepulsorepeatedly until the sphere lands inside the platform.
Merlin Trial #4 - Stone Cube Puzzle
The final MerlinTrial inHogwarts Legacycan be found east of San Bakar’s Tower Waypoint. To complete it, players need to solve three symbol cubes scattered around the graveyard. They cansolve a symbol cube by matching the top symbol with the corresponding bottom symbol. To do this, players need to castFlipendoto flip the top cube over, while standing on the correct side before casting the spell.
First Cube Puzzle Solution
To solve the first symbol cube, cast Flipendo from one side and then move to the opposite side and cast it again.
Second Cube Puzzle Solution
For the second symbol cube, cast Flipendo from the first side twice.
Third Cube Puzzle Solution
To solve the last symbol cube, cast Flipendo on the top cube and then move to the opposite side and cast it again to complete the Merlin Trial.
