WithHonkai: Star Railofficially concluding the Penacony arc, the Astral Express Crew is reportedly going back to the Xianzhou Luofu in Version 2.4 for the Wardance Luminary Combat Arts Ceremony. This will be an exciting event because it will introduce new characters, like the upcomingHonkai: Star Rail5-star characters Yunliand Jiaoqiu, and a new March 7th variant.
Recently, aHonkai: Star Railleak revealed the rumored Version 2.5 beta character appearances, which will reportedly include a new Tingyun variant. According to aReddit post reporting on Uncle G7DD8tV’s leak, Tingyun’s new form will allegedly see her with “at least four tails” and long, white hair with a hint of pink. This would be completely different from her default brown-haired look. The leak didn’t mention if the new Tingyun would be playable in the future and if she would make her first appearance inHonkai: Star RailVersion 2.4 along with the other new Xianzhou Luofu characters.
In the comments, manyHonkai: Star Railfans expressed their surprise and excitement that Tingyun was getting a new form, especially since she’s been missing in action since the end of the Xianzhou Luofu mission. Some also speculated that this version of Tingyun might be the complete opposite of the endearing personality thatHonkai: Star Railplayers were used to when they first met her.
Tingyun is a playable 4-star Lightning characterfollowing the Path of Harmony. She first appears in the early parts of the Astral Express Crew’s first trip to the Xianzhou Luofu as an amicassador of the Sky-Faring Commission.
What Happened to Tingyun in Honkai: Star Rail?
Tingyun is one of the few playable characters inHonkai: Star Railcharacters that are believed to be deceased. In Version 1.3, it’s revealed thatPhantylia the Undyingwas using her as a vessel to infiltrate Xianzhou Luofu, and eventually snapping Tingyun’s neck. Although the Astral Express Crew witnessed Tingyun’s demise, her body also disappeared, which led many fans to believe that she might be alive somewhere. Nonetheless,Honkai: Star Railcharacters still mourned her during a funeral before leaving the Xianzhou.
With Tingyun possibly receiving an alternate form, this would be the first timeHonkai: Star Railwill do this for a non-protagonist. Apart from the Trailblazer,Dan Heng has a 5-star form as Imbibitor Lunae, and March 7th will receive an alternate DPS form.
