InNo Rest for the Wicked, the Shovel, Woodcutter’s Axe, Fishing Rod, and Pickaxe are all basic tools required to obtain raw resources like clay, wood, fish, and ores. These resources have multiple uses in the game, and it’s always better to grab these items when players get the chance.

Finding these basic tools allows players to take advantage of any resource deposits they find around the map, making sure they are not forced to come away empty-handed. Luckily, most basic tools can be found in the overworld without having to purchase them from a merchant. Here’s how to get them.

Unlike all the other basic tools, the Shovel does not have a fixed location where it spawns. There are two methods that players can use to get the Shovel:

Equipping the Shovel in the tools slot unlocks the ability to dig for items. This is the only reliable way of obtaining clay in the game.
