Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3has opened up to mixed reception levels, stemming from its lackluster campaign in the eyes of fans. Many feel that the story’s ending on this occasion was anti-climactic, concluding at a breakneck speed with a particular character’s death. Changing the regular round-based Zombies experience present in many of the previousCall of Duty Black Opsentries,Modern WarfareZombies takes elements fromCold War’s Outbreak andModern Warfare 2(2022)’s DMZ modes. These align with extraction-based missions, where players are given a set amount of time to jump onto the map, take all necessary resources, complete contracts, and exfil before time runs out.

The issue with this is that players only have a total of 60 minutes to do everything the Urzikstan map has to offer. With three different tiers of difficulty, players will often find that they must rush through contracts and gather suitable equipment fast enough to reach the third tier for better rewards. To allow players to fully enjoy theModern WarfareZombies experience, Treyarch should look to completely remove the timer or extend it much higher than it currently is.

Packet Loss Can Be Relieved By Turning Off Cross-Play

The issues with packet loss and high ping may be synonymous with some players on different platforms, more notably PC players, but this issue occurs more frequently in Zombies. While packet loss is present in Multiplayer, the multiple squads and players present in Zombies seem to increase the likelihood of constant lag or ping issues. This can very easily result in being downed by enemies when players are seeing sequences in-game play out very late.

Given thevariety of potential causes behind this issue, there may not be a definite final fix for the issue. Despite this, the constant changes, tweaks, and updates that have come from Sledgehammer since the game’s beta suggest that this will be addressed much sooner rather than later.

Players Can Not Pause While In MWZ

Since manyBlack Opstitles, especiallyCold War, gave players the option to pick a solo private game, many fans see it as a surprise to be omitted here. While it is still possible to venture intoUrzikstanwithout a squad, there will still be other players in-game in other teams, meaning it is not possible to pause the game or have difficulty adjusting to one person. This is more evident when attempting to enter the third and final tier of the map, as players are more than capable of being eliminated by enemies even with the best gear.

As there will definitely be future updates on Zombies in upcoming seasons, fans will be hoping a solo option for Zombies is at the forefront. This would give players much more incentive to dive into the mode easily, without the need to join hands with friends or random players online.

MWZ Has Three Tiers Each With Their Own Difficulty

Speaking of the third tier within the Urzikstan Zombies map, the zombies appear to move at an incredibly rapid pace and deal a huge amount of damage to players. While many times this may come down to the level of gear a player has equipped, it often feels there is a lower chance of completing contracts in time given the level of aggressiveness enemies combat players with.

While the speed of the zombies is genuinely a positive aspect of this Zombies mode experience, the combination of it with the small amount of time given, and the need to travel to another tier for a higher Pack-a-Punch, leaves the third tier just a little too difficult, especially when solo. If developers can tweak this to fit solo runs and change thePack-a-Punch tier system, it will result in the third tier being a lot more accessible for players.

5Round-Based Zombies

Round-Based Zombies Is Often Only Present In Treyarch Entries

Among many of the changes and improvements, is none other than the inclusion of round-based Zombies. Going by Sledgehammer’s previousCall of Dutyentry,Vanguard, a plethora of complaints were aimed at Zombies coming without round-based modes at launch. This later changed with the addition of theclassic Shi-No-Numaround-based map, pushing reception levels towards the positive side during the game’s final stages.

WithModern Warfare 3, fans have been pleading for a round-based mode addition. Given this game’s perceived long life span, it feels inevitable that Treyarch will eventually implement the anticipated mode, which would give fans the ultimateModern WarfareZombies experience they had initially been expecting. Going byVanguard’s history, it is only a matter of time before theModern Warfareseries receives the same positive treatment, and fans will be pleased, to say the least.
