Summary
Kento Nanami is one ofJujutsu Kaisen’smost important characters and one that fans have come to love over the years. From the very beginning, Nanami was a character that fans adored and much of that was down to his incredible personality and the role he played as Itadori’s teacher. When it comes to skill, Nanami was a Grade 1 Sorcerer and he certainly had the skills to show for it.
He was able to hold his own against Mahitoin combat at one point and much of that was down to his incredible usage of the Ratio Technique. As fans know, Nanami ended up dying, however, his legacy still lives in his blunt blade which is now being carried by Ino and has become a cursed tool.
Nanami’s Cursed Technique - Ratio Technique
In the world of JJK, cursed techniques exist in various forms.Fans have seen a vast variety of incredible cursed techniques in the story already and while some of them are quite straightforward, others are very imaginative and somewhat bizarre as well. In the case of Nanami Kento, he possessed an incredible cursed technique called the Ratio Technique. This technique was shown by Nanami across his many fights in JJK and it allowed him to effectively create weak points on the body of his targets by force. Essentially, Nanami was able to measure up his targets in 10 parts and if he managed to strike their bodies on the 7:3 ratio point, then he would land a critical hit. Usually, these hits could only be produced by him in a straight line.
Nanami had mastered this technique incredibly well over the years. Even in his fight against Mahito, he was able to deliver some deadly blows, thanks to this technique. This is precisely why even with a dull blade, Nanami was able to deal incredible amounts of damage to his enemies. When he made use of his Overtime Binding Vow, Nanami was able to channel even more power and this allowed him to keep up with a Special Grade Sorcerersuch as Mahito quite easily.The Ratio Technique might not be the strongest cursed technique that fans have seen inJJK, however, it is very imaginative and it certainly aided Nanami greatly in combat.
Nanami’s Death
Nanami was an incredible character who fans loved more as the story continued. However, he met a premature death in Shibuya. Nanami was one of the strongest fighters in Shibuya, which was expected,given that Gojo was sealed away.He was one that the likes of Yuji and the other students looked up to and he certainly did help, thanks to his incredible battle intellect and expertise as a Jujutsu Sorcerer. Unfortunately, Nanami came up against Dagon in combat. Dagon, as fans know, was one of the strongest Disaster Curses that fans saw in this arc and he certainly dominated Nanami in battle. In fact, Nanami, even with the help of Naobito, Maki, and Megumi, was not able to keep up with the strength of Dagon.
Thankfully for Nanami and his group, Toji made quick work of Dagon and when that happened, Jogo was the one who ended up incinerating Nanami and burning him pretty badly. With the injuries that Nanami was already carrying, survival, for him, was out of question. In the end, he ended up crossing paths with Mahito once again and that is essentially where he met his end. With the power of Idle Transfiguration, Mahito was the one who put an end to him and made sure that he was completely erased in front of Yuji, his very own student.
Nanami’s Blunt Blade Cursed Tool
While Nanami certainly did end up dying, his legacy lives on. Fans already know that characters such as Yuji Itadori and Ino have learned a lot from him. These two characters are carrying on his legacy, however, it is more true in the case of the latter than it is in the former. Ino has learned quite a lot from Nanami over the years and it appears that he is also carrying his dull blade and wielding it in his memory. Recently, fans saw Ino take part in the fighting against Sukuna in Shinjuku. This was somewhat of a surprise to the fans, given that he is insignificant compared to Sukuna in terms of strength.
However, he did not hesitate even for a single second before attacking the strongest sorcerer in history, even when he saw him absolutelyslaughter Gojo in battle.For Ino, jumping in battle like that was very brave and just goes to show how much character this guy possesses. Ino did not go ahead without a plan, however. When struck by Ino, he realized that this blow was much harder than what he had expected. It was then that Sukuna realized that the blade that Ino was carrying belonged to Nanami and that his cursed technique, the Ratio Technique, has now been imbued into the tool, making it a cursed tool.
Essentially, Ino can now use the power of the ratio technique thanks to Nanami’s blade. This can allow him to deal deadly damage to his enemies by creating a weak point by dividing his enemy into tenths and hitting the 7:3 ratio point, which would be where he would be able to launch the critical hit. This technique would take Ino quite a long time to master, however, it is incredible that he can carry the legacy of his mentor and hit incredible heights as a sorcerer.
How Powerful Is Nanami’s Cursed Tool?
Nanami’s cursed tool is quite strong as it now possesses the same cursed technique as him. However, fans must remember that this technique is certainly not the strongest in the world. This weapon does not have an official rank at the moment, however, it cannot be considered a special grade curse tool, at least for now. In the future, Gege will probably elaborate upon this concept and explain to the fans what exactly the rank is that this weapon holds. Nonetheless, it is still very powerful and the fact that it allows Ino to create weak points on the body of his opponents and then strike it efficiently just goes to show that this is a weapon not to be underestimated.
This would be even more dangerous if the user can couple it with the usage of Black Flash. Fans already know that Black Flash are very powerful blows, and when they are combined with the critical blow that can be created with the ratio technique, their power would increase dramatically. For now, fans have not seen enough of Ino fighting using this weapon, however, in the upcoming chapter, they will certainly get a proper look at what this weapon is capable of and how far Ino has come since then.
