Kojima Productionsannounces a surprising collaboration with NASA. However, this new partnership is not for a game, but rather something else that will still entice fans. TheKojima Productionsmascot is an astronaut known as Ludens, so NASA is a natural pair for this collaboration.
Kojima Productions seems to be interested in branching out from more than just video games, as the company already has a variety of products from collectibles, apparel, and keychains available on its website. Currently, since the war between Russia and Ukraine began this year, a portion of the proceeds fromKojima Productions merchandise go towards supporting Ukraine.

Kojima Productions' collaboration with NASA is producing a brand new stylish watch, which will be available on the gaming company’s website on July 07, 2025. The watch’s promotional trailer opens to pieces of the watch being assembled into a sleek design that shows the Kojima Productions logo and the words “EXTRA-VEHICULAR CREATIVE ACTIVITY Suit”, referring to the suit worn by Ludens that is necessary to travel into space. The nearly 30 second long trailer ends with a familiar scene to Kojima fans, Ludens standing in the distance on top of a surface overlooking outer space. Fans may expect Hideo Kojima to talk about this watch and the partnership with NASA in a future episode of his new podcast, “Brain Structure,” with the first episode already available for fans to enjoy.
Anicorn, a third party company, created the watch that is unique to Kojima Productions by using the NASA logo and a design based on the mascot Ludens. Announced on Twitter by Anicorn, the watch will be a correlation of time, space, and Homo Ludens, as in “those who play.” The watch was designed by Yoji Shinkawa, who is also responsible for thecharacter designs in theMetal Gear SolidseriesandDeath Stranding. Whatever Hideo Kojima’s next game is, players can be sure to expect Yoji Shinkawa’s involvement, as well as the possibility of this watch showing up in some fashion as an easter egg.
Including the merchandise as easter eggs in its games is not a new concept to Kojima Productions. InMetal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Kojima revealed a pair of sunglasses merchandise through a cutscene that involved characters Ocelot and Snake. A replica version ofVenom Snake’s prosthetic arm was also made for amputees, showcasing a red design and multi-grip functionality. The watch is a welcomed addition forKojima Productionsfans who are looking for a new aesthetically pleasing watch to show off their appreciation for gaming and science.
