From the earliest days of LEGO games, collectibles have been a massive focus of the experience. Even early games likeLEGO Racers 2put an emphasis on finding secrets, with Golden Bricks being required to journey to the next area of the game. As LEGO games have evolved, as have their collectibles. In any given LEGO game from 2005 onwards, there’s at least three types of collectible: Minikits, Red Bricks, and Golden Bricks. With the release ofLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saganext week, LEGO games' range of collectibles is about to get even bigger.

Though all the details haven’t been given just yet, it seems as thoughLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagais going to be the biggest LEGO game yet, with by far the most collectibles. Forfans of past LEGO games, and those who strive to get 100% in them,The Skywalker Saga’s abundance of bricks and tokens is an exciting prospect. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Has a Lot of Collectibles

Put plainly,LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagahas a lot of collectibles. Though the exact numbers are still a little up in the air right now, most sources seem to report that there will be a total of 1166 Kyber Bricks in the game. These Kyber Bricks will be used to upgrade character classes, and unlock new abilities.

Based onthe trailers released so far, it seems as though players will be tripping over these Bricks at every turn. Completing main story levels, side missions, and exploring the environment will all net the player these glowing blue Bricks. For completionists, seeing the counter in the corner of the screen tick up with every find is sure to be satisfying, but for those looking to put in just an hour a night, these collectibles might be a little overwhelming.

These Kyber Bricks are also joined by character and vehicle tokens that are similarly unlocked through main missions, side quests, and exploration. Finding one of these tokens unlocks an iconicStar Warscharacter or vehicle for purchase. From the behind-the-scenes material, it seems as though there’sover 400 characters and vehiclesin the game. So, when paired with the Kyber Bricks, and possibly some extra collectibles like Red Bricks, players looking to 100% the game will need to find over 1500 pick-ups.

For more casual players, the sheer amount of collectibles may act as more of a turn-off than a selling point. A good portion of those picking upLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagawill want to play through their favoriteStar Warsmoments, and play as theirfavoriteStar Warscharacters. For those with limited time on their hands, being forced to finish a specific level, to unlock a planet, so they can find a side mission to unlock their desired character might be a little too overwhelming and time-consuming.

Plenty of Brick For Your Buck

On the other hand, those who have been looking forward to this game since its announcement all the way back in Summer 2019 are likely going to want to spend as much time with this game as possible. So, for that sub-sect of players, the prospect of having to find over1500 collectibles across 24 open worldsis more exciting than intimidating.

By having such a high number of collectibles, the game will likely encourage players to go out of their way and participate in the game’s side content, and explore all of these hand-craftedStar Warsworlds, as the more the player explores, the more they’re rewarded. While some players will probably just want to speed straight to their favoriteStar Warsmovie, and rush to unlock their favorite character, having all of this extra content will likely keep some players hooked for quite some time. And with all the effort that’s seemingly gone intoLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, it’s good that players are being encouraged to exploreall of the developer’s hard work.
