For what may seem like forever now, fans have been left in the dark regardingLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Many may have wondered if it was still going to release this year since its indefinite delay in early 2021. While that potential flood of information has yet to come, it seems fans now know when the dam will burst.

Previously,Gamescom had teased thatLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagawould appear at its show. A LEGO Darth Vader appeared alongside an ad for the show, which would have been odd if the game wasn’t going to be there. Now, however, Gamescom host Geoff Keighley has confirmed that the game will be atOpening Night Live.

Not much more than that is shown off, except for the above image ofRey inStar Wars: The Last Jedi, but there will be a “world premiere new look.” Based on the teaser for it, it seems fans will at least see more ofThe Last Jedias it appears inLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, but in actuality, it could be anything.

Gamescom Opening Night Live will take place on Wednesday, August 25, streaming at 11am PT/2 pm ET. It’s worth noting that there is a half-hour pre-show prior to the main event, with the latter lasting for two hours. Gamescom has 30 games or so to show off, withLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagabeing one of them. The trailer is a given, but perhaps it will also include a release date, confirming or denying whether it will release this year or not.

There is still time after all, as shown by recent announcements.Skyrim: Anniversary EditionandCall of Duty: Vanguardwere both recently announcedand are still launching this year. Hopefully, it’ll be the same story forLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, but either way, fans now know the silence should hopefully be broken. If it announces it is now launching in 2022, fans may expect a quick return to that silence, but if it is releasing in 2021, the pre-release marketing will surely kick up.

For now, fans will just have to wait and see what comes of Gamescom andLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. There is a lot to speculate about and quite a bit of information already confirmed for thisStar Warsgame, but it seems like Gamescom will be the one to reveal the most.
