Last week saw the first PlayStation 4 beta forMarvel’s Avengersgo live, allowing players to hop into some of the game’s early story missions - including the frequently shown Golden Gate bridge sequence - alongside some of the title’s multiplayer “strike missions.” It seems reactions have been something of a mixed bag, with many claiming the game has a lot of issues despite its interesting central premise.
Luckily, much like thePlayStation 4 betathat went up last week,Marvel’s Avengersnewest early-access test is available early, with players on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One all being welcomed to jump in right now. Players on PlayStation 4 are able to jump into the beta regardless of whether or not they’ve pre-ordered the game, with the title now entering open beta, while users on Xbox One and PC will have to have pre-ordered the title to gain access.

However, it’s worth noting that many are experiencing some issues getting into the beta, with users on Xbox One claiming that the game tells them they’re “too early” when they attempt to gain access. Meanwhile, users on all systems are reporting that they aren’t getting confirmation emails from Square Enix when registering their accounts upon launching the game. Seen as the accounts are mandatory to playing theMarvel’sAvengersbeta, it means they can’t gain access to the experience. Square Enix has been quick to address the problem on Twitter, however, telling users: “We’re currently experiencing a high volume of Square Enix Members account registrations and delays in confirmation emails going out. We are actively working on addressing this.”
Players who do have access to this weekend’s early look at the game will have until Sunday to experience as much as possible, which is fantastic because the beta has a lot of content to see. Not only is the introduction to the game fairly lengthy in of itself, showing players the ropes and an early look at the story campaign, but the beta proceeds to give players a fairly significant number of strike missions to complete if they so desire. Getting to grips withHulk, Ms. Marvel, Iron Man, and Black Widowis a strong incentive to jump into these missions, so players can expect to be playing throughAvengersfor the entire weekend if they so desire.
Those on PC andXbox Onewaiting to get a free glimpse at whatAvengershas to offer don’t have long to wait, with the game going into open beta on all platforms next Friday. Seeing the trend for both weekends, it seems wise to expect Square will give players beta access early, so those clamoring to get stuck into the game should keep their eyes peeled.
Marvel’s Avengerswill be available for PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia and Xbox One on September 4, with Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions also in development.
