Collecting is a big part ofMarvel Snap, not just for the sake of pulling awesome variants, but for obtaining the most powerful cards for the best decks in the game. As players rank up their Collection Level, they’ll get access to a wider variety of cards with Series 3 being the most diverse. While it can be difficult to collect every card in Series 3 due to the sheer number available and limited chances to pull new cards, things just got easier for more casualMarvel Snapplayers with the latest updates to the Token Shop.
Recently, the game has been sliding into pay-to-win territory, withMarvel Snap’s gacha mechanicsbecoming a greater nuisance among players at higher Collection Levels. Players either had to hope that they got the card they were looking for from a Collector’s Cache or Reserve, or save up Tokens and hope the card they want shows up in the Token Shop. For players still trying to complete their Series 3 collection, this grind could be a nightmare, and it was almost impossible for casual players to keep up with more dedicated players. Luckily, the new revamp to the Token Shop should help ease the grind and give casual players a fighting chance.

What’s Changed With Marvel Snap’s Token Shop
Previously,Marvel Snap’s Token Shopallowed players to spend the Tokens they’ve accumulated from places like Collector’s Caches and Reserves on a card from either Series 3, 4, or 5, or Ultimate Variant, with increasing costs the higher the series. The shop unlocks for players once they hit Collection Level 500, and they receive a starting fund of 3000 Tokens. This initial Token balance is a great way to help players get a boost to their collection, but the well of Tokens quickly dries up as they become a less frequent drop.
The Token Shop refreshes its select card every eight hours, but players can pin a card they’re interested in to keep it from refreshing until they’ve saved up enough Tokens to purchase it. While this is great for high-value, high-cost Series 5 cards likeMarvel Snap’s Thanosor Galactus, it often meant that players were skipping out on obtaining crucial Series 3 cards in order to save their Tokens. As a result, developer Second Dinner created a separate shop for Series 3 cards to help players finish their collection without sacrificing the Tokens they’ve been saving for rarer cards.
Now, thanks to the latest update, players can access the Choose Your Card shop which offers players the chance to claim a Series 3 card they’re missing for free once per season. Like the Token Shop, the cards offered here rotate every eight hours, however, there is no option to pin cards since they don’t require players to save up any currency. This was a great move forMarvel Snapplayersas it greatly increases the rate that they can acquire missing cards, and with more new cards being added each season, it will be easier for casual players to keep up.
With the Token Shop now only offering Series 4, 5, andMarvel Snap’s Ultimate Variants, players are free to pin the rare card of their choice while saving up Tokens without missing out on potentially useful Series 3 cards. The fact that Second Dinner is willing to make these adjustments and help players get the cards they want is a good sign for those worried about the game becoming too pay-to-win. The added bonus of increasing the number of Tokens gained per drop, and special offers like Token Tuesday also go a long way towards making card collecting inMarvel Snapfeel fair.
