After players complete the Extraction story mission in Act 1 ofModern Warfare 3 - Zombies, Operation Deadbolt, they will unlock the second act of the new Zombies story. Act 2, Mother of Invention, will have players work to set up Dr. Jansen’s lab and begin working against Zakhaev’s Terminus Outcomes mercenary group by diving deeper into completing contracts, upgrading weapons, and earning kills, all while working toward the next story mission, Shepherd.
While the mission objectives get more complicated, the rewards improve to match players' efforts, with higher XP amountsand higher tier acquisitionslike epic aether tools and schematics like the cryo freeze ammo mod. Tier 1 Mission
There is one mission in the first tier of Act 2, awarding players a refined aetherium crystal acquisition that can be used to instantly Pack-a-Punch a weapon to Tier II.
Tier 2 Missions
Mother of Invention’s second tier has six missions available for players. Completing the first will award the Cryo Freeze schematic.
Tier 3 Missions
The third tier of missions in Act 2 has three missions.
Tier 4 Mission
Tier four has just one mission that awards players a new weapon charm and 3000 experience.
Tier 5 Missions
The final tier in Act 2 before the story mission has three missions. Completing the final mission will add a Rare Aether Tool to the Schematics menu.
Story Mission
The final mission in Act 2 will progress the Modern Warfare Zombie story, uncovering if Operation Deadbolt can begin to reverse the incursion and stop the madness.
