Monster Hunter Worldis no stranger to crossovers, fromFinal FantasytoAssassin’s Creed, the game has had its fair share of collaborations. While not an officialMonster Hunter Worldcollaboration, players can now addDoomand to a lesser extent,Animal Crossing, to that list thanks to a mod by LyraVeil and IIICrimsonIII.
One franchise thatMonster Hunter Worldcollaborated with wasThe Witcher. With that collaboration, the leshen fromThe Witcherwas added as a monster for players to hunt. This newDoommod takes the skeleton of the leshen to make the Marauder fromDoom Eternalinto a new monster withinMonster Hunter World.The Marauder does not replace the leshen in the games' files, but the mod creators do warn that this mod can cause the leshen to behave abnormally and thus recommends players have someone else host any hunts against the leshen or ancient leshen.

It wouldn’t beMonster Hunterwithout gear to makefrom defeating a new monster. This mod has players covered with armor sets for both the player and their palico, as well as weapons (again including for the palico) and a pendant. The Marauder armor replaces the Savage Deviljho armor and the weapons replace the standard Nergigante weapons. As for the palico, the mod replaces the Rathian gear. However, this is whereAnimal Crossingcomes in. The Moogle palico gear (from the aforementionedFinal Fantasycollaboration) is replaced by armor that turns one’s palico into Isabelle fromAnimal Crossing.
Isabelle being included in aDoomrelated mod is likely a reference tomemes that made their rounds nearing bothDoom EternalandAnimal Crossing: New Horizons' releases. Both games launched on March 20th of this year and because of how diametrically opposed the two games are in terms of their content, a lot of gamers started making jokes about the two games crossing over.
The Marauder itself is found in four quests that the mod adds into the game. The quests range from a simple quest of just hunting the Marauder to a hunt that involves avoiding an invincible Odogaron while working to take down the Marauder. There is also a tempered version of the quest and one where the player must hunt multiple monsters.
WithIceborne’s steady drip of content, including Fatalis in October and the very recent film collaboration, the game certainly isn’t starved for new things to do. That being said, it’s always exciting to fight a new monster, so many hunters will no doubt jump at the chance to fight a brand new monster. Especially if they’reDoomfans.
