How Paintballs Work In MHST

Paintballs are used to help Monster Riders track monsters back to their dens. In order to use them, players will need to start a battle with a monster and then select the Paintball to use, which can be found in the items section of the battle menu. Once they are used, players will need to defeat the monster within 3 turns for the Paintball to work. This means that the item is best used on enemies that have a low amount of health.

Despite popular belief, Paintballs donotensure that a monster will retreat. Instead, it just increases the chances. Players may need to do multiple things on top of using the Paintball if they want to get a monster to retreat.
